So I spent the past week in Florida. My grandmother and her mother live in an "active seniors community" down there(read: a lot of old folks cruising around in golf carts and a pharmacy on every street corner). All kidding aside, it is a nice place. Florida is a beautiful state. Blue skies, palm trees, the heat-which eveyone but me hates,apparently. See, I've always love love loved the heat, and I despise the cold. So you can imagine that living in New Jersey isn't fun for me. I've never really cared for NJ, despite growing up here, and my vacation has only brought that into stark relief. I dragged my feet the entire way home.
One of my favorite parts of the entire trip, actually, was the road trip down there. It takes sixteen hours to drive to Florida from NJ, and you do get to see some interesting stuff on the way down. Road trips are great for me-especially when you start off without a clear destination in mind. There's my idea of a good time.
Anyway, I've been thinking about moving down to Florida some day. And I also have a goal; someday I'm going to buy one of those old VW buses, and I'll use it to travel around the country. There was once a guy who dropped out of law school to live in a bus in the frozen Alaskan wilderness. I wouldn't be surprised if I went crazy and dropped out of society someday(minus the frozen Alaskan tundra part, of course).....
