Why the Ocean is Blue
Why is the ocean blue you may ask?
But I will tell you
It all started with a man who wore a mask
A man who’s heart grew.

By the ocean the sun rose every day
To the smell of the ocean breeze
At the light from the suns’ rays
He would always give a prayer on his knees.

He ran down stairs
And found a girl with flowers in her hair
He gazed in a stare
He then gave his name to share.

She then shared her name with him
And his heart stopped as he heard her name
The name of the girl he would win
Then it began to rain.

He asked her to stay until it stopped raining but she said no
She said that she must be getting on home
That she must go
When she left the man walked out to the beach, and with his feet he touched the foam.

Days later the girl returned to his home.
She asked him if he would attend the ball
He then stood firmed
And said he will that fall.

When the season turned orange, red, and yellow
That man went out and bought a mask
He did that fellow
A mask that would make people gasp.

That night of the ball he dressed his best
He hid his face behind that mask of the color night blue
As he walked into the ball room he saw as you can guess
The girl dressed in gold he knew.

She smiled to him behind her mask of orange autumn
He took her hand and gave a kiss
She smiled bigger as if she had bought him
He grew a little bit sad for this would be a night he would miss.

Since that night the girl he knew visited him a lot
He was so happy he took his mask and tossed it
The mask fell by the ocean and the paint dripped off
The ocean grew blue, as blue as the ring that had fit.

Now to this day the man and his wife look at that ocean blue
And smile back at the times they once knew.
