Writer's Journal
I really want to be a writer someday, so this journal is about my writing ideas, short stories, or anything like that. I need COMMENTS! I need some ideas, too, stuff to help. Check out my journal, please!
Story 1
It didn't seem that big of a deal at first. I knew that I would miss my parents. I knew that both my little brother and I would be glad when I was gone. And I knew I would get a call from Kayla everyday, even though the call would be long distance. But it all didn't seem that important as I sat on the plane to London, England, shaking in my seat excitedly. I was only focused on the amazing time I would have at my new school.
I couldn't sleep on the long flight, even though it was more than 10 hours long. It flew by amazingly fast though. From green Seattle, Washington, to busy, crowded New York City, New York. Then across the wide, blue Atlantic Ocean to Barcelona, Spain. Before I realized it, I was walking through the London airport to the baggage claim. I had no idea how I was going to get to the Academy from the airport. But I found a limo driver with a sign that read, 'Melody Raine.' That, of course, was my name, so I decided to ask him if he knew anything about Raven Weston Academy.
"Ah, Miss Raine. A pleasure to see you've made it here safely," he said, grabbing my two small suitcases and placing them into the trunk of the long limo.
I was wide eyed as he opened the back door for me. Is this a dream? I'm still on the plane, aren't I? I stepped in and noticed that there were two other girls in the back of the limo already. And they both looked around my age.
I quietly moved to sit next to the window on the other side of the limo. One of the girls had light curly blonde hair, tied up in a tight ponytail, with thin rimmed glasses that made her brown eyes appear a bit larger. She was already dressed in the school uniform. (At least, that's what the outfit looked like. It even had the school crest on the left side of her chest.) She smiled at me as I looked over.
"You're also attending Raven Weston, right?" she asked. She smiled so sincerely, it made me so much more comfortable about her.
"Uh, yeah." I answered with a timid smile.
"Then that means you're in our dorm room! My name is Lily Patil, and it's a pleasure to meet you!" she said eagerly.
I nodded my head, "My name is Melody Raine. It's a pleasure to meet you as well."
"Oh, I already knew that. But you have an American accent... which state?" Her eagerness was a bit too much for me.
"Uh, Washington... Issaquah, Washington..." I answered.
"I've never heard of that place... It must be a small town..." the other girl spoke.
I looked over to her, catching the slight pity she put into those small sentences. Her hair was jet black and amazingly straight, her bangs cut just above her ocean blue eyes. She was so beautiful, I wondered why I didn't notice her. But then I realized why when I looked over her dark lacey dress. She had a black ribbon in her hair, and the outfit made her look like a doll. Her skin was as pale as porcelain, and her whole appearance made me think She's a vampire. But maybe that's because I read the Twilight series too many times. She looked over at me, and her whole expression was bored.
"Well, it kind of is..." I said, a small tone of defence in my small voice. She sounded like she was belittling it, and I had too stand up for my beautiful hometown.
"Oh, really? That sounds quite quaint." Lily said with her happy mood rolling off of her body. Apparently, she was trying to make the mood lighter. "This is Ramilda Williams, Melody. She will also be our room mate!"
Wonderful. But I smiled timidly at her. She looked away and looked out the window with her bored eyes. She must be great at parties.
Yes, that was the start of it all.
