One day at band camp...
WORST THING I COULD EVER DO! I am NOT going to take band my four years in high school. I am sorry but HELL NO! Freaking eighth grade year there was no band (that alone upset me) and now the HS expects all freshmen to know how to play their instruments. Well I'm sorry but 200+ days without playing it because of a shitty school year and guitar lessons, put me out of playing my clarinet. So I'm switching my band class as soon as possible. I am not going to band camp the rest of the summer and I'll attempt to enjoy my vacation to Georgia this weekend. So if the people that bother to read this do read this, you know I won't be online for about 3-4 days. I still have my homework to finish and probably will this week or next week. But right now I am upset with my mother.

She said I was giving up on band. I told her, "I'm not giving up on it. I am just saving myself from uneeded stress that may come later." Of course she repeats herself and I burst into tears trying to explain everything that went down and she repeated herself and said "So I guess you want to get rid of your clarinet..." I don't want to get rid of it because that instrument holds my favorite memories that I do not want to loose.
--------------------------------
Basically today was getting to know how to march. I learned forward, backward and sideways marching. Learned the commands for bringing up the instrument and the marches. Then for a thirty minute break from the outside work the students were to work on a piece we are going to be playing for the foot ball games. Well no sooner do I get the sheet, my heart drops to the floor and breaks. I recignized the notes but didn't know the fingering. So of course I get upset like I do if I'm confused about something, and I hate asking for help from anyone. So when some of the other clarinetists asked if I was okay, of course I lied and said yes. Of course they didn't believe me so they asked the band director for a few minutes in another room to get the full story. I told the girl about my school cutting band, lack of a way to practice since practing an instrument by yourself or just a parent doesn't measure up like it does with a trained instructor. So this is my "One day at band camp" story. Not even a time, but only a day...
