I don't really like all of the bashings for Twilight, but I understand them because I'd be one to do it. (Here is my full review of the series. Flame me if you want)
I've loved the book since right after New Moon came out, my friend got the first book at a school book fair and I was curious so I bought it too and read it. The first book took me awhile to get into but once the page-turning came I read the book through the nights. I then bought the next book and read it soon after the first. I waited with anticipation for the third book to come out and when it did, I loved it as well. At long last I was waiting for the final book to come out, and admitedly I was dissappointed in it, but it was a page-turner all the same.
Then, the movie came out. I watched the previews with excitement, thinking 'After the books... OMG this movie's gonna be fu**in awesome xD' Then the day came.. I went to see the movie premiere (not the midnight but the actual premiere day). I was so dissappointed. I looked at """"Edward"""" and all I saw was a bad actor with a heavy-set jaw unlike the Edward that Meyer had built a vision of in my head. Every time I looked at the ugly-a** (no offense to his fans, just read the next few words) actor I saw Cedric Diggory, Because I've seen all the Harry Potter movies up-to-date. I see Cedric all over Twilight and about puke my guts out because the writer ruined her entire book for fans of that alone.
Days after it came out, everywhere, my school became Twilight Central. I was in my own personal hell. Alot of my friends only saw the movie and didn't read the book first. They all loved the movie but usually didn't like the book. I was cursed to burn in a silent hell as the giggle-a** girls who thought that Cedric made a good """"Edward"""" walk around my school's hall, floundering about in shirts that sported his face with a misplaced 'Twilight' logo on them. I burned for weeks.
Now that most of the movie craze is over, I've emerged from my pit, Happily saying that I loved the books, but detested the movie, and thought Edward was(still is) ugly without starting a blood fued.
I am very afraid to see what they have done to New Moon, but I shall watch it all the same. What else am I to do? I have to see what they have done to my beloved Twilight....
I am not a Twilight junkie, I do own all the books but have yet to purchase the movie. I will, as any respectful fan will, and yes, I will probably watch it over again. The movie now sits in a different part of my mind, it sits apart from the book, as if there was no book to this... this.. movie, it sits as a seperate thing from the books that had so enticed me.
