So after work, I crashed my friend Alan's New Years / birthday party. Sadly, I missed the sushi, but was just in time to sing and eat cake with chopsticks. That was easy once you got the hang of it. So then we watched his brothers and cousins decapitate the pinata turtle, then Alan opened his gifts - Jade got him Sweatin' to the Oldies'. Then I think we ran upstairs to hang around in the game room.

I went off to find Jade and Jessica, who hadnt followed us, and we went into Alan's room to poke around in all his stuff. We got some nice pictures (which you'll see later, once they are developed), and then went into his brother Austen's room (he wanted to show us how dark it could get) and we took in-the-dark pictures. Man, that flash works really well.

Then Alan found us and we returned to the game room, took pictures with cardboard men (yay Legolas!) Michelle arrived, bringing a second cake and we ran around some more. Alan gave Jade and Michelle presents, but not me. :cries: Then we discovered the tunnel system in his house - there are small doors in ever room upstairs, and you can crawl between them to get to various parts of the house. So we ran around in his roof. ^^

Then we set off some fireworks, and totally forgot about the New Year countdown. By the time we registered the loud noises and bright lights as the celebration, it was ten past.

Alan broke out the fake wine and we drank, watched Alan do karaoke to Yoko Ishida and the Rent soundtrack, I sang 'Think of Me' from the Phantom of the Opera, and I dragged Jade, Jessica, and Alan to my car where dad was waiting to pick me up. I asked if I could keep them, and we all piled into the truck and took off down the road to the gas station.

Michelle phoned and started screaming at us! She wouldnt listen that we'd only gone to the gas station, and so her brother Zack got on the phone, we told him we'd be back in 5, and he was cool with it. I dont know what happend after that. Jade's mom was there when we returned. Jesseca was going to Jade's I think, but I went home and slept.

All in all, it was a good year spent at Alan's.
