Mindless Rantings
Saraez analyzes, reads, rants, and writes.
Saraez sez…

Welcome back to another Central Casting thing! I’ve felt kind of guilty about not updating this journal, and not doing anything with Halindra.

I’ve come up with a few revisions for Halindra’s character and background, but I also want to try creating another character, who may or may not end up being in Halindra’s hypothetical story.

So let’s get crackin’. If you want more information about whatever the hell that is, consult my earlier entries.

Gender: d6 roll. 3. Odd number, so MC is female.
101: Character Race: d20 roll. 11. MC is human.
102: Cultural Background: d10 roll. 9. MC is from civilized culture, and gets a CuMod of 4.
103: Social Status: d100 + CuMod. 89+4 is 93. MC is Well-to-Do, and has a SolMod of 2.
104: Birth Legitimacy: d20 + CuMod. 3+4 is 7. MC is legitimate.
106: The Family: d20 + CuMod. 17+4 is 21. None known. Left to fend for self. Social status is changed to destitute, and MC’s SolMod changes to -3.
109: Time of Birth: d12 roll. 10. MC was born in October.
110: Place of Birth: d20+LegitMod. 12+0. MC was born in a foreign land. Now we reroll for more information. 10. In a carriage while traveling. BiMod of 2.
112: Unusual Births: d100+BiMod. 85+2 is 87. Two unusual occurrences. I get to pick one.
113: Unusual Birth Circumstances: d100 roll. 21. All glassware in the ‘house’ suddenly shattered. I pick option 89-93. MC was born with an unusual physical affliction.
874: Physical Afflictions: d20 roll. I get a 4. MC is born with glowing eyes that allow her to see in the dark without a light source. This doesn’t work like infra-vision. Plus a 60% chance of a glow color other then white and a special power. d100 roll. 97. No special powers or glow. Pfft, boring.
215: Special Events of Childhood and Adolescence: d6 roll for events. 3, meaning two special events during childhood. d12 roll. 10. d20+SolMod roll. 13-3 is 10. At age 10, a special age specific event occurs to MC.
216A: Special Events of Childhood: d20 roll. 16. Through a brief misadventure, MC discovers that she is a nearly exact twin of a young noble. +1 R trait.
758: Nobles: d100 roll. 91. The twin noble’s parent is a Knight.
215: Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: d12 roll. 4. d20+SolMod roll. 1-3 is -2, I think. All public assistance is terminated because the country is at war. This causes bloody riots in the poorer sectors. +1 R trait. Now a d6 roll for number of Adolescence events. 6, meaning three events. And now a d6 roll for MC’s age during an event. 2, equaling age 14. d20+SolMod, 4-3 is 1. MC gets involved in illegal activities. +1 D trait.
534: Underworld Experience: d10 roll. 5. MC feels she is punishing those responsible for misdeeds done to her through doing this. d6 roll. 3. MC gets involved in organized crime.
875: Crimes: First a d4 roll: 4. 4d20 rolls. 13, 19, 10, and 1. MC regularly commits armed robbery, d4 roll gets a 1, so she does banditry. She also regularly commits drug selling, refuses to pay debts and taxes, and commits burglary.
534B: Underworld Events: d3 roll for number of events. I roll a 1, so I roll 1d20 events. 8. MC gets imprisoned, for 8 years, and goes straight after leaving but maintains her underworld contacts.
215: Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: d6 roll, 3, so MC is 15 whenever this next event happens, d20+SolMod gets me a 11-3 which is 8. I reroll, since MC has no family. 14-3 is 11. Special age-specific event.
216B: Special Events of Adolescence: d20 roll. 19. Something wonderful occurs. Gain +1 R trait.
529: Something Wonderful…: d20+SolMod. 8-3 is 5. The area MC lives in is destroyed, but gets rebuilt, and MC rises to the lofty social status of Poor.
215: Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: d6 for age, I roll a 6, so MC is 18. d20+SolMod gets me 15-1 = 14. 1d3 more significant events during this year. I get a five, so four events happen this year. 4-1 is 3.Something wonderful occurs. +1 L trait.
529: Something Wonderful…: d20+SolMod. 17-1 is 16. A disease almost kills MC, but she becomes immune to illness.
215: Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: d20+SolMod. 6-1 is 5. MC learns to be a waitress. +1 N trait. d20+SolMod. 19 – 1 is 18. Something good happens to MC. +1 L trait. d4 roll. 1. MC inherits a large sum of money.
217: Significant Events of Adulthood: 2d20+SolMod. 19 + 17. 36 – 1 is 35. MC is accused of a crime she did not commit. MC is accused of running organized crime. (Table 875, thing number 2.) d6 roll… 5. MC is sentenced to death, but at the last minute rescued by notorious outlaws. d6 roll. 6. MC joins the outlaw band. +1 R Trait.
534B: Underworld Events: d6 roll. 3 significant events. 15: A crime lord becomes MC’s patron, grooming her to be a leader of organized crime. 2. Jailed for a few days during a sweep of the streets. 16. MC’s friends are killed off in horrible ways. Law enforcement officials are uninterested in stopping the killer, since only criminals are being slain. Soon, MC and only one other friend is left.
318A: Personality trait check: 4 R traits, so 4 d100 rolls. 93. Darkside trait. 11. No Trait. 16. No trait. 55. Neutral trait.
318B: Neutral Traits: 2 2d20 rolls. 6 + 6 is 12: Skeptic. 1 + 12 is 13. Immature.
647: Lightside Traits: 2 2d20 rolls. 19 + 14 is 33. MC is Friendly. 10 + 18 is 28. MC is forgiving.
648: Darkside Traits: 2 2d20 rolls again. 7 + 3 is 10. MC is suspicious. 1 + 17 is 18. MC has poor personal hygiene.

So our little thief here is prone to skepticism and being immature, but is friendly. She is suspicious of other people’s behavior, but doesn’t get mad if they screw up, and she smells funny.

I’ll write up her character history draft tomorrow.
