Box lived next to the front door for now. Girl’s haste had left him haphazardly set down on the floor. There had been no time to pick up the broken shards from what had once been a light bulb left strewn on the cold cement of the front porch.
Girl was shaken, but finding a box on her front steps and a broken porch light were poor excuses, so she had set Box down just inside her apartment‘s doorway, picked most of the glass out of her hair, and began the walk to the boutique she was supposed to have been preparing for a seven a.m. opening half an hour ago.
Box surveyed his new surroundings. He had no eyes to speak of, but he could feel everything about him. He hummed quietly knowing that soon everything would be in place and the blue metal container he found himself currently occupying would only be necessary for a little while longer. While he hummed unconsciously, clouds began to gather outside. Thunder rumbled lightly, far away at first, but getting ever closer. Box glowed with a soft blue light, his buzzing hum growing louder as the sky darkened.
By the time Girl got off work it had been heavily raining for hours. What had started off as a cloudless sky turned into thick grey mass hovering over the city. Flashes of lightning occasionally forced the blackened sky into a brilliant, blinding blue-white before plunging the world back into the gloom. Girl had no coat and the walk was long. By the time Girl reached home not an inch of her was dry, or even damp. Water poured from her skirts as hard and fast as from the sky.
Her boots trudged over the broken glass. In the dim light her key searched its way into the deadbolt, which refused to open on the first attempt. The water streaming from her pooled down by her feet, off the welcome mat and under the door.
The key finally turned, and Girl left the safety of the welcome mat and walked straight into the small pool of water. Box was throwing off blue sparks before she entered the puddle, but now those sparks turned into an arc of electricity that ran up the water dripping off Girl. The blue trail climbed up her body and seeped inside. She began to glow the same pale blue as Box’s shiny, metallic exterior. The blue light hummed as it settled into her, making Girl shiver.
The arc of light was gone after a moment, but the shivering lasted for hours. Girl didn’t speak, didn’t scream, she just stood there stunned before finally she sliding wetly down the wall into a sitting position. She stayed there, soaked and shivering in the puddle by the door. The blue light gradually faded and the shaking became less noticeable to her.
The door was still open wide, and Girl used her foot to shut it. Looking towards the door she caught sight of Box. She picked Box up from where he sat beside her and put him on her lap. He had lost the shine he had that morning. The metal seemed dull now, and Box felt much heavier. Though he looked decorative there was no way to open him. If he had been welded shut there was no sign of it, he seemed to be one complete cube of hollowed metal.
Girl was in no position to process any of this. Her brain felt as if she hadn’t slept in days, running only the most important functions-- breathing, blinking.
Girl stood mechanically.
Machine like she left the puddle.
Box slid slid to the floor.
Crash.
Box dented the wood below.
Girl ignores the sound,
Ignores Box.
Girl walks through the hall.
Into the bed room,
Wet clothes still on,
Girl falls onto the bed.
Sleep.
Deep,
Dreamless.
The blue glow hums quietly inside.
Living room floor:
Box still sits in the puddle.
Empty.
Dead.

The courage of beauty and the words from a sword…
The mirror lied. The Duchess stared deep into the defiant reflection. Her eyes gleamed a gold she had never seen and her hair wildly fought the tiny gusts of wind entering the slit window. Her lips curved into a soft smile, separating enough to show a hint of madness. Despite the changes, or maybe because of them, she found herself even more beautiful and perfect.
Thunder boomed outside her window as dark clouds made their way closer to the castle. She glanced out the window and watched the storm rage for her, releasing anger and pain. She could feel the rain against her skin even without touching it. The sky flashed and illuminated everything around her in a flash of truth. The sight made her shiver.
She turned away and found solace in the sight of the sleeping sword. It shimmered as thunder boomed behind her. It called to her again and she obeyed, making her way to the bed. The moment her hand touched blade in its scabbard the echo of thunder stopped. A calm she had usually forced, came to her easily. The beam of light, the first light of the morning, made its way into her room.
She strapped the sword and its scabbard around her waist. It gave her confidence and safety, just as her husband had. She took a step towards the door and stopped, placing a hand on the book she had removed from the shelf one day earlier, the echo of her husband still entangled in its pages.
She held back more tears as the sudden urge to cry broke across her quiet contentment. The rain began to beat heavily against the castle walls again. She fought the feelings harder and threw the book to the floor. Thunder once again crashed outside the castle.
Show them. A voice inside her head prodded her thoughts. She looked around, searching for the being behind the voice. She noticed the sword shimmering brightly against its scabbard. She placed a hand on it and felt a surge of energy. Show them who you are.
She obeyed, placing a hand on the door in front of her and pushing it open. The people in the hallway stopped and stared. The Duchess had locked herself away for a long time and she had finally broke free of her own fear. She closed the door behind her and made her way to the front of the castle and to the giant staircase that ushered all eyes to her.
The room hushed as she took her first step. All eyes were transfixed on the strange woman the Duchess was slowly becoming. Whispers stammered around the room and she knew why. She was changing, the people saw it in her new eyes and wild hair. Most of all, she knew that they were surprised to see a brilliant sword at her side. No one could imagine the perfect Duchess as a swordswoman.
She continued down the steps, commanding their attention. She carried herself with as much perfection as she could gather. She placed a hand on the hilt of the shimmering blade and she could feel the voice call again. Show them. Show them what they did. Show them what they deserve. Show them.
Her resolve hardened as the rain beat against the stained-glass windows. Images of the former Duke fighting giant monstrosities lit up as lightning flashed. The voice inside her head echoed its sentiment. She walked to several men dressed in the armor of the castle guard.
“Where is the man in charge?” Her voice was soft but firm. The men chuckled in response and continued their meaningless banter. Her eyes flashed through the large room. “I take it that you did not hear me. So, I ask again. Where is the man in charge?”
“We heard you,” a man replied with another laugh. She turned to him and glared, his burly body loomed over her. Her hand, now tingling, gripped the sword at her side and thunder boomed throughout the room. Their laughter died.
“Then tell me where he is. Now.” Her voice grew and the room stopped.
“Why?” She knew the man was goading her.
“So I can kill him,” her eyes flashed as the rain poured harder against the glass windows. The wind whistled through the cracks in the doors. The men began to laugh again and she narrowed her eyes. Static filled the air.
The room thundered as her hand pulled the sword from its scabbard and found a new home in the blood of one of the men. It slid easily through his throat, drenching itself in his final moment of life. Her eyes flashed to the other men and the room thundered once more, shattering windows and breaking open doors.
She watched as everyone in the room ran outside into the heavy rain. The two other men let the fear show in their faces. They dashed for the doors and made their way outside with everyone else. Her eyes stayed locked on them as she slipped the sword back into its home. It rested peacefully.
She took a few steps toward the door and watched them run into a small home just down the hill. She knew that was where she would find the man who killed her husband and sons. Even more clouds rolled in, gathering in the sky.
The Duchess watched the rain fall just outside her reach. A streak of lightning crashed across the sky and the world around her slowed. She watched the people flee in slow steps and a smile crossed her lips. The echo of the voice still beat softly in the back of her head. Show them.

Judge the second one.
Nila didn't contemplate her find for too long. She was eager to show off her amazing find as soon as possible if she could. She held it close to her chest and began to run out of the deserted area of the park. The closer she got to society, however, the more fear gripped at her heart. She wasn't sure why, but she was soon convinced that she could show no one this amazing stone. They might steal it from her!
With this thought on her mind she turned and ran into the bushes. She found a large bush, covered in webs and placed the stone gently within. No one would look here! She could go get a bag to hide it within to take it home undetected. That was her plan...

The whole time that she was away from the stone she was in agony. She felt like ripping her hair out. She imagined that this was what a mother felt like when sending their children away. Of course, there was no plausible reason as to why she should feel like a frightened mother, that was simply the closest description she could think of.
When she finally managed to get back to it it was late at night. She had brought her large backpack and stuffed it with blankets so that she could cushion the stone safely. Releif and calm spread over her body when she had the stone safely within her bag.

Once she had the stone at home she found herself drawn to it almost constantly. Even though it was safe on a shelf she couldn't resist checking on it every twenty minutes. She tried to go about her daily life. She went to school, to work, tried to go out with friends, but her mind was constantly on the stone.
She gave up. She didn't want that agonizing feeling anymore and, without thinking anymore about she simply holed herself up in her house with the stone. She was so focused on the stone, her dark treasure that she didn't care about her appearance anymore. Her hair was done up haphazardly. She wore no make up. Her skin became dry and cracked. To put it simply, she didn't pay attention anymore.
Maybe she should have. Maybe then she would have noticed the way that the burning paw on her arm had grown into a wing and had spread down her arm. Of course, the most startlingly change that went unnoticed was the pair of bat like wings that hovered at her shoulders.
It didn't matter. None of it mattered. Only the stone mattered. Not a stone, her treasure. She was like this for weeks, until, one day, the stone cracked. At first she felt her world coming to an end. Dust spurted out from the egg and surrounded her as she rushed to pick it up and cradle it in her arms.
A frown perched on her lips as she watched the crack spread. Then realization struck. This was no stone, it was an egg. Her egg. A burning sensation crept down her inner thighs. The "tattoo" from her arm was spreading. It was simulating the birth taking process. It was telling her that whatever came from this egg was her baby.
She watched in worry, hoping that it would be born safely.

Continuing from where I left off:
She had just fallen asleep, and was now floating through space. That's what it looked like anyways; nothing around her to see. Only emptiness. Despite that, she could feel the ground under her. No she thought. The ground isn't just under me, it's part of me. As she looked down, she could see that the vest was no longer around her, but had become her skin. Stiff and strong like wood. What was even more surprising to her was that her feet had become roots. They dug into the earth, seeking water and a firm place to hold. She quickly tugged at her legs, but realized she didn't care if she could move. I'm happy with where I am. I'm not only here, but everywhere around me. I'm every living plant, every animal with a beating heart, every rock and grain of sand. I can feel them, and I'm sure they can feel me.
"That's right" said a voice that seemed familiar, though she knew she had never heard it before. A glowing aura surrounded her, carried by flowers slowly falling to the earth. "You have been chosen to fix the planet, and now have all the powers you need to stop its destruction."
A_Homeless_Nobody
He had lost track of time, what day was it anyways? Who knew, who cared. All Hono cared about was the plant and what it allowed him to do. Sure there were a few side effects, skin discoloration and utter obsession, but those were a small price to pay for what the plant offered him. Ever since he had found it had been growing, feeding off his life force. The strange thing was that it could talk, well it wasn't strange to Hono, and it told him of a power that was within his grasp. All he had to do was exactly what it said, and he was prepared to do just that.
Everything crumbled from his mind except for the plant and the power, he had complete disregard for hygiene and his public appearance. Though he mostly kept to himself, in the forest with no one around which was good considering he had ditched his clothes somewhere, he didn't know why he had a belt on oh wait it was because it was too much trouble to take of, at least he thought that was the reason. Oh well it didn't really matter. Possibly the strangest thing happening to him was the extreme eruption of pubic hair. But the power, ohhh the power. It felt so good to rip boulders from the ground with his mind. And this was just the beginning, if he continued down this path he would be able to do much, much more.

Time passes, and it's now spring. Scott has taken care of the rose diligently throughout the winter, and, to his surprise, it's still alive.
And then, the changes start happening.
Slowly but surely Scott's acne begins to clear up.
He lets his hair grow out.
He refuses to eat anything that had come from plants, making himself sort of an impromptu carnivore.
He starts caring for other plants besides the rose, and has even been carrying various sprigs and flowers to school with him...but not the rose. He will not risk losing the rose.
He often spends hours at a time in the woods behind his neighborhood, and just as often returns home with ripped-up clothes and cuts and scratches from the brush.
Yet, he is still as invisible as ever to everyone else.

A lot of things changed since Hannah found the scroll. A great change had over come her - she suddenly felt no need to do drugs, no need to be lazy. In fact, she slowly began to make the transition towards being a regular kid. She started paying more attention in school, and even started dressing like the other kids. She felt as if she had went from being a low-life to a now somewhat decent person.
It wasn't enough, however. She felt as if she had to be something more. She felt as if a raging power was inside her, and that it needed to be let out. She felt at many times superior to her classmates and those around her, as if she was some righteous being.
But what led to this drastic change? Hannah knew of course. It was the scroll. The scroll that gave her an amazing feeling every time she looked at it, touched it, or even thought of it. It was as if the scroll was her drug, for she couldn't live without. The mere thought of being without the scroll worried Hannah.
Hannah knew the scroll was magical. She couldn't explain it, but it was. She knew that if anything happened to it, her life would spiral back to its original low-life state. Because of this, Hannah never let the scroll leave her room. One day, however, Hannah made the mistake of taking the scroll to school.
It was Monday, and Hannah was walking down the hallway towards her fifth period English class, when suddenly...
"OH LOOK. If it isn't little Hannah, looking as ugly as ever."
Oh dear god, thought Hannah. The Ashley's. The Ashley's were the school's most popular girls, for their parents were the richest.
"What's wrong Hannah?" said Ashley P.
"Yeah, Hannah? Didn't get your fix today?" said Ashley Y.
"Nah, I bet she can't afford any." said Ashley B., and they all erupted into hysterical laughter.
Why I aughta... thought Hannah. She opened her mouth to say something, but something amazing happened first.

A giant ball of fire flew out of Hannah's bag (where she had kept the scroll), and flew directly at the Ashley's.
OH MY GOD, thought Hannah.
"HOLY CRAP WE'RE ON FIRE GUYS!" screamed Ashley P.
"OMG I'M NOT THAT HOT!" yelled Ashley Y.
"I JUST GOT PLASTIC SURGERY!" shouted Ashley B.
As the three Ashley's ran around on fire, Hannah decided it was best for her to leave. She knew what had happened wasn't random, but her doing. She knew she couldn't stay around long, so she decided to disappear.

Elphaba the Renthead
Madison woke up the next morning, and the first thing she realized was that there was an odd sensation around her head- almost a tightening, like her head was slowly being squeezed and juiced. Blinking the sleep out of her eyes, she reached her hand up to her head, freezing when she felt a think metallic band that encircled her head.
Not even bothering to turn off the blaring alarm, Madison rushed over to the mirror that hung beside her bedroom door. That definitely wasn’t there before... she thought to herself as she stared at the golden halo. Now if only it would stop cutting off blood flow to my brain, I would be able to think properly! Much to her surprise, the circlet immediately loosened, and Madison sighed deeply. That’s better.
Thinking back to the night before, she realized that after she had completed the strangely exciting online assignment, Madison had forgotten to take off the unknown hairpin when she had toppled into bed. And it had disappeared, or morphed, or whatever...and now this circlet was left in it’s place.
How in the world am I going to hide this from Mom? The sensible voice inside her head asked.
She put the thought aside as she got ready for school, trying to hide the circlet under her bangs. Unfortunately, they kept popping out. With one last look at the clock she gave up and ran downstairs, concocting reasons for the new headpiece as she made her way to the kitchen.
However, her mom wasn’t sitting in her usual spot at the head of the table. Instead, a bright pink sticky note was attached to a packet of PopTarts sitting in the middle of the table.
Maddie, darling.
I have a long work meeting today.
I won’t be home until late tonight.
Don’t forget to feed the dog.
Love, Mom
I have a long work meeting today.
I won’t be home until late tonight.
Don’t forget to feed the dog.
Love, Mom
Sighing thankfully, Madison grabbed the PopTarts and ran out to the yellow school bus, which had just pulled up outside her driveway.
***
The morning classes past by slowly and uneventfully, and Madison was hardly able to pay attention. All she could think about what chemistry. The past week, all those experiments with Bunsen burners were in preparation for today’s lab. Given an unknown substance, they were going to have to determine what the substance contained using flame tests.
When the end of fifth period bell rang, Madison bolted out of her seat and ran to chemistry, not even bothering to wait for Kimi, who sat near her.
She was the first person in the room, and by the time the last person had filed in the door, she already had on the goggles, gloves and apron that were required for all dangerous labs.
“Alright, class. You all know what to do, we have been preparing for this this entire week. I’ve already passed out the metal samples to each lab group. Ready? You have the rest of the class period to test. Go.” Ms. Taylor said.
As the first flame flared up, Madison noticed a curious sensation around her head, where the circlet was lying. It seemed to grow warmer every time a new flame burst into being, until Madison could hardly stand it.
The glass beaker she was holding crashed to the floor, the unknown substance spreading everyone. Madison couldn’t control herself. Her head was on fire. It was flaming. She was going to die.
She started hearing screams, but she didn’t know who they were coming from. She couldn’t concentrate. Flames were roaring up around her. The Bunsen burners were supplying the fire, she was supplying the energy. It was too much. The circlet tightened and heated to the point of no return.
Madison collapsed onto the floor, on top of the fire. The last thing she remembered before blacking out was Kimi screaming, “But she isn’t on fire!”
~Swift~
Why Had she done it? It was Idiocy, practically suicide. But floating flames weren't exactly realistic either.
She Screamed. Everything around her stopped, stopped and stared as the flames burst apart in her hand.
The Flames exploded outward, towards her, ripping at her clothes and skin. She shut her eyes tightly, and tears began to form; smoke from burning flesh filled her nostrils.
The flames slashed at her like blades, blood flowed out and fire flowed in. She screamed again. Piercing. Flames rushed into her mouth suffocating her cry.
She Fell.
Like a Meteor She Crashed Down from the sky.

It has been a week since Yuki found his shiny companion.
What happened all still seems too surreal for him to comprehend.
Although the butterfly is with him, he never heard the voices in his head again.
One night, as he was sleeping, the bedroom window suddenly crashed open and there was a tremendous amount of cold air that went inside the room. Yuki woke up and surprised to see that his room was covered in icy mist. And there was a spiritual being in front of him.
The being then spoke up in a gentle yet icy voice.
"Yuki... you who is the inheritor of the power of water and ice. Heed my words. You will soon be engulfed in the eternal war between dharma and chaos and thus, you shall soon be the one of the 7 gods who will defeat the darkness."
Yuki can't understand what this spirit is saying.
Water? Ice? Dharma? Chaos? Me? A god?
Suddenly, the spirit touched the cheek of Yuki and his eyes ignited with the power of ice.
"This is the first gift that I will bestow upon you as the messenger of Dharma - the total order of the cosmos. Your eyes will be able to see the past, present and the future if you wish to. It will be of aid to you until your power grows complete. Use it well."
With that, the spirit vanished leaving Yuki alone in his room.
"Was it a dream?" Yuki wondered.
He looked in the mirror and saw that his eyes were shining and that power was overflowing him.
He still can't understand what was happening so he decided to return to bed to sleep.
After several minutes, he can't find himself to go back to sleep because of there's too much in his mind.
Just then, his butterfly appeared out of nowhere and rested in Yuki's shoulders suddenly bringing him to a peaceful respite.
