So, I decided that I'm going to keep track of how much I eat, exercise, and how I feel after the exercise (the next day will be any recovery problems, etc.
I'm doing this because I'm going to start racing when I get to Ohio, and I want to keep track of things so I can ensure that I eat enough, as well as gauge how well I do in workouts. I am NOT doing this so that I can lose weight. If anything, I want to stay the weight I am right now because if I drop any more pant sizes (I've already dropped one!) I won't ever be able to save up for a car!
Today, I am going to go on a short, very easy bike ride (around 6 miles) just to cap off my mileage for this week - I'll get a little over 55 miles this week!
I contacted someone at OSU and have a target - 20-30 miles a day, average speed of 17-21 mph. So far I can ALMOST cruise at that speed (I probably could for an extended period of time, like 10 miles, but not for an entire ride) but am nowhere near that mileage. Next on my wish list, after a woman's bike seat, is a heart rate monitor!
Now to food... I've decided that I'm going to start with 1400 calories a day as a base. For easy rides where I go less than an hour, I will add on 200 calories RIGHT after the ride. For less than two hours, 400 calories, 200 right after the ride, and 200 additional for a snack after lunch. As for less than 3 hours... well... I've barely made it over 2 hours! So, we will see when I get that far!
Today, I'm going to eat:
Breakfast - hard boiled eggs in a bell pepper - 140 + 35 + 30 calories
Snack - two servings of dried fruit and nuts - 140 + 140
Dinner - tortellini - approximately 600 calories
snack - two cookies - 200 calories
Total: 1285
Gotta find other stuff to eat... -_-
