Shattered hearts are not the same as broken ones. Tears may have once appeared upon my face, now they are gone forever. Each one us affects each others life: sometimes we take so very little time to understand that affect. The smile that brightens the day, or helps wipe away the tears. The encouragment that lifts the heart of another and helps them go on. Just like all the things that affect the lifes for good the bad does the same. That one moment of a short word, a lie or harsh come back tears at the hearts or all that see or hear it. You, I or even themself do not see it but all of the sudden that persons day isn't the same. I read a book once that was suppose to be a thriller type story by Dean Kootz and it touched my life profoundly that every smile and every mean word go bouncing out thru time to affect the world in ways we will never know.
