wink . Now as I type this, I am looking at an avatar in the Original Avatar forums which appears to be the same thing I will be doing. I am somewhat disappointed because I wanted to surprise people and do something completely fun and creative for Halloween this year. I have wanted to do an avatar cosplay of this character for a while now, but felt it was only necessary during the week of Halloween.
About My Cosplay Choice:
I decided to cosplay as Candycorn-chan (Candy Corn Witch) that was drawn and colored by celesse on deviantart. The link to the image is here:
[X]. I worked hard to get this avatar in the arenas. I probably did more than the other people here. I sent a private notice to the artist asking her permission to cosplay her character. I chose this character to cosplay because I saw it and knew it would make a very cheerful avatar in the top 10. It is very cute and I knew it would be somewhat of a challenge for me to get all the items in less than a few weeks.
Today (10/18/09) I went to the arenas to see if anyone had come up with the same idea that I had. Some one did. That person was user Ichigo Rush. The avatar that she entered looked like this:
Now, I'm not very worried, but yet, I still am. I'm somewhat afraid people will bash me because they "saw the same thing last week". I assure you, my cosplay is
NOT the same. I have created my own avatar of this on tektek and fixed everything so it looks more appropriate (ie neko cosplay ears don't hide behind the hat, adjusted gloves, changed hair, etc, etc.). I made my cosplay of this character a while back and this is what the original looked like on the left and my final decision on the right:
All, in all, I just want this to be a fair and nice competition for Halloween week. I know it is somewhat of a dumb idea to think I can go up against some pretty good cosplayers, but I believe I did a pretty good job at recreating Candycorn-chan into a regular gaian. I tried my best and looked through TONS of different outfit choices for this cosplay and the final result I feel is the best that anyone could do with the items gaia has right now. I'm saddened by how little gaia has made candycorn themed items. If there were more of them, I'd definitely use them! All I can ask is that you give my avatar a 5/5 or give me some suggestions as to how I can improve the cosplay. Thank you everyone who reads this and for everyone who votes fairly! I love you all!!
