Happy Birthday to me and my twin brother! Yellow topaz is one of the birth stones of November so today's subject is the topaz.
During the middle ages topaz was thought to protect against physical and mental diseases. It was also thought to prevent death. Greeks thought it provided strength and that it made the wearer invisible. Romans thought it helped improve eyesight. Egyptians thought it protected against injury. In ancient times topaz with falcons carved into them were thought to help acquire goodwill from kings, princes , and magnates. Yellow topaz wad thought to be a sun stone and was often used as a stone of royalty. It is suppose to promote clear sight and understanding in both yourself and the world. It is also seen as a protective stone.
