On the night Everything seemed so wrong I couldn't imagine what I saw
A burning light Of blue florescence The blood was gone I could tell Yet the light Had blinded me Only for the moment
Just then I saw something A flash, or perhaps shine From something metal
No It was a person, a girl
Her locket around her neck She looked at me Her brown eyes Shined in midnight's moon
Black hair Long and curled Flowed in the wind Reaching her knees
A dark dress That twirled As she stepped forward
She was older I could tell But seemed so young She came to me Majestic Yet very sad
My fright grew But it left with the seconds
She had stopped in front of me She smiled as if she knew What had happened Only minutes before As if she had known all her life This would have happened
Her eyes shimmered Trying for comfort In this time of sorrow
She touched my hand When tears passed by She sang to me A voice so pure So gentle in the wind It would put A crying baby to sleep So the tears had stopped For now She held me close to her Wiping away the tears that fell Her hands were gentle Cold but calm
She sang of rain That very night And told me of the storm that came And the promise of tomorrow
My eyes grew heavy And my head fell drowsy In a deep sleep I went Her soft singing Still echoed through my dreams Chorused by the rain
I did not know this woman But I felt secure As if, somehow I had known her in a different life A different time Before they died
She told me nothing of who she was Nothing of what she was But, I knew She was something, Someone magical From somewhere distant
She saved my life That I know of How, I do not
I will remember her forever, though And the feeling I will too The feeling of being Safe in a stranger's arms
