I'm bummed Precious didn't get more stuff, but it seems to me a sign of real progress that Bigalow got the director award, given all the sexist crap still getting heaped on women directors. Despite not having seen Hurt Locker, for the reasons I already explained, I was rooting for it in a secondary sort of way. it looks like an excellent project and I am genuinely happy for all those involved.
