Stuff that happens to me.
Well. Stuff that happens to me.
More on the Incubus Gunfighter
Things don't always go as they are planned, not even punishments. A task given, a life taken, come back, and do it all again. A cycle, perfect and self perpetuating until superior beings saw fit to break the psychic chains keeping him to his duties.

But there is always a catch, isn't there? A flaw unaccounted for, a loop in the hole as it were...

Little by little, he gained ground with his work and his bullets, little by little did he feel his freedom drawing near and could almost taste the breath of his first mortal victim. He could also sense that his superiors were lying, something they held back behind smiles and assurances. The incubus had already earned back his truename, Miza, but could still feel something wrong in the process.

His scar or better put, his brand, still remained to remind him of the goddess who's gentle graces had her lip print on his face. Still, Miza knew his place, his task and it hadn't changed. Kill those who needed to be made example of.

So the years moved as they do, three hundred eighty five years, two hundred and twenty five days, four hours but who's is really keeping up with such things? The task had taken him to far flung woods within the ever sinking land of the Marsh Lords, sarcastic creatures with great power and perverse humor. His original target was Gackemell, some human hedgewizard who had convinced the Marsh Lords that defying his masters would be great sport and they had nothing to lose but a good laugh if he was taken.

The creatures, being of more power than brains, had accepted his offer and did indeed start and end the hazy days with a hearty laugh one apparently gets from thumbing your nose at the system. Unfortunately, the incubus' task was not to kill the wizard but one of the Marsh Lord's favorite pets, a captured succubus. Miza almost smirked as he glided down silently through a window in the back halls close to the pitiful hedgemage. He opened the door with his boot and fired shots wildly at the mortal. It actually made him smile to see the mage flee before him. With attention drawn to the human, his real target could be sought out.

The reptilian guards stalked through the halls, finding only quiet and empty shadows. Shadowy wings carried Miza quietly over his pursuers as this place actually had enough magic for him to truly fly on and it wasn't before long that he found the slave chambers. Then the work, the actual work of killing his own enslaved kind for some political statement. While as a demon and incubus, taking lives didn't usual phase him but this was too much like his own life. Unfortunately for them, he still had a job to do and a demon's heart when it comes to dwelling on sympathy too long. Yes them, as he was promised bonus for killing all the slaves near the special harem b***h.

He emptied both mystical firearms in a precise arc, taking each life in her shackles with each bullet. He would hate this later when left alone to think but this was already taking too much time. When he was done and Miza turned from his work, there was that pitiful mortal somehow no longer afraid. A flick of a bone wand and here he was... No longer in the pits of his birth or even in the marshy domain of his previous enemies, he was in a lush forest with a chill to the air and no idea what would happen next.
