"You'd never have known it was here,"
whisper smoke-sparks pulling on the breeze .
Translucent city-spires design their prior boundaries
in fog and rubble
amid the dullish cast of day -
"You'd never know what was here."
In skyscraper-glass plated
of sky and embers,
the reflection of incendiary-colored dreams
still gleams.
"You'd never have guessed that when
the bombs go off, it looks like they have
golden eyes, and greenish wings."
Crouched in smoke and cockroaches,
shopfronts huddle sycophantic yet suspect
as though bowing where the clouds fell in.
"And you'll never guess what the falling steel screams."
Black-glass roads trickle between what remains,
pooling themselves in burnt-out shadows
consigned to tears and rain.
"Are you very strong?"
