The samuri were brave men who served there masters well. When he/she was on the battlefield, there was no flinching. They faced death without fear. The remaining samuri would then head back, have a cup of pokie, and put there swords to their hearts. This was an ancient ritual that has been passed on since they were formed. When they were dead, their masters went looking for new samuri. This has been going on for generations, and will still continue.
