My prince charming was about to kiss mw when that peculiar sharp sound roughly pulled me out of my dreams. Alas, the world of texters is awake! One would think that people these days have nothing better to do than send “gud am smile ” and “tke cre…luv u” at the break of dawn.
Come to think of it, I open my eyes in the morning and close my eyes at night with a text message either sent by a friend or sent to a friend. Not that there’s anything wrong in wanting to send a message to a friend, huh! I hate to think of the days gone by when I had to wait for days before my message was recieved by a relative or a friend. But my, are we not taking this lates communication tool with a vengeance?
What’s in a TEXT really is we Filipinos, young and old alike, are very much into it? Ask a student and the most probable answer you would get is ~ “It is the “in” thing!” Some would even say, “I have to know where my love is!.” To a businessman, texting is an important and less expensive means of communication. To an adult or a parent, it’s how they get in touch with their children.
Texting is a way of life now. Ask anyone with a cell phone and he will tell you that having no load (Check operator services) or low battery (Battery empty!) is like being out from the rest of the world. Texting may be an irritating sight to some but that “tuh… tuht, tuh…tuht” sound tells you that you are in touch with the rest of the world… One touch… a few seconds… that’s all it takes for you message to get across. Not bad at all, huh?
