I went running/walking today with my dad for the first time since last summer. It's sort of our tradition; he doesn't like running by himself because he gets kinda lonely and I could use the extra company to keep me driven. My dad's a good coach/trainer, he knows what he's doing from years of experience in karate. Third degree black belts tend to be like that, ha ha.
Anyway, I actually did a lot better than I thought I was going to. Normally the first day I can only do one lap of the neighborhood (the main street goes in a huge circle with cul-de-sacs thrown in intermitantly), but I managed two today. Small victories, whoohoo! After that, I did some cool off laps around my cul-de-sac and some stretches. And I'm not too sore yet (yet being the operative word here). Tomorrow's gonna be a b***h, though. I don't think we're scheduled to run again until Wednesday or Thursday, so I'll have some recovery time inbetween days.
I want to really try hard to be in better shape; every year at my checkup, I always end up ten pounds up from where I was the year before. And I can tell I just feel... not in shape, you know? So here's to many more days of stitched sides and calf Charlie horses!

I love to talk about something that I realy like in long, elated sentances, so watch out! I'll pretty much talk about anything from books to movies to food. ^_^
