The rain pounded against the panes of the castle's windows. Areana stood watched, completely motionless and alone. Out from the shadows behind her came Ryuuin, wrapping his arms around her. She closed her eyes, sighing, and leaned back against him. As his hands brushed over her, she felt warmth, even in the damp chills of the castle. She turned around to him and rested against his chest, her arms sliding under his and running up his back. He smiled, his fangs glinting in the flickering candlelight.Looking into her eyes, he lowered his lips to her ears and whispered. "I could kill you right now..."
Area felt herself stiffen up slightly. That phrase came as frequently as "I love you" so Area was used to his threats. Fearlessly she embraced him tightly, taking in his scent. He smelled of ash and smoke, it filled her nose painfully. She felt his hands lightly move up her waist to her throat, enclosing her throat.
She took a breath and relaxed. His fiery eyes bore into hers and sparkled with amusement.
He still couldn't believe how brave, yet incredibly foolish, beautiful woman could stand here before him and not run in fear like everyone else. He wanted to test her boundaries. To see how far he could go till she screamed. He pressed his fingers gingerly into her supple neck. Her eyes opened quickly, but there was not even a hint of fear. While he left one hand around her throat, he dropped the other, wrapping it completely around her wrists, pinning her hands down. Areana gasped out of surprise at Ryuuin's actions. This was the farthest he had gone yet, the farthest she had trusted him. She knew his desire to kill her was parrallel to his undying love for her. In a common reflex she tried to lift her hands to get him to let go, finding them ensnared by his. Panic set in slowly and she raised her gaze to his.
"Ryuuin...Please..." She gasped as he tightened his grip around her throat and she began to lose her calm.
Her sword hung from her side, useless to her unless she could get his grip off her wrists. She wished she had payed more attention. He smiled as her skin began to pale, giving her beautiful face a haunted look.
He chuckled "Your skin looks like porcelain... I wonder..." His grin widened. "How I'd love to see your skin drenched in your own blood..."
Areana began to struggle, cursing herself. How foolish she was to let her guard down, especially with the man that both loved her and wished her dead. She loved this ungodly creature that could just as easily snap her neck as kiss her.She saw anger building up in his eyes and she closed her own waiting for this ironic end.
"I love you Ryuuin..." she whispered. She felt her legs weaken from the loss of air. Her eyes watered. This couldn't be her last memory of him. Ryuuin smirked heat coursing through his veins. He squeezed tighter and watched her hazel eyes widen in fear...
