Shichiyou Abyss
A world opposite ours, where darkness and corruption conquers all, and light flees at the symbol of the dark. There alone, one begins to wonder if this world is really the best their life has to offer, and if; perhaps, they could ever dream of more.
Chapter 2
Note- Once again there are cuss words in this chapter, so if you're not okay with that, please refrain from reading this.

I winced as I felt the pavement quickly scratch across my thighs as I was roughly thrown to the ground, my hands, in cuffs, having no way of preventing the impact. "Hey, that's going on?!" I shouted, "I'm in hand-cuffs, and you're throwing me in jail?? I thought you trusted me!"

The woman laughed, "No, no, I'm sorry dear. I do trust you, I do, but...well...I am a leader of a large group of rebels. I just took an enemy into our clan with open arms. How do you think they would feel if I just let her roam free, welcome to do anything she wants, and able to go anywhere she wants? You see, even if I trust you totally and completely, there is always that chance that you could be a spy. You understand, don't you?"

I sighed and turned away just slightly, "Yes, I suppose I understand... if you let me be free they wouldn't trust you very much as their leader, and that may be bad."

She seemed relieved, "Good, I'm glad you understand. My name is Alicia, by the way, and sorry it may not be under the best circumstances, but it's very nice to meet you." She held out her hand for me to shake, and the guards looked at her like she was insane. She must've caught their looks because she simply laughed at the expressions on their faces, and said, "Relax, boys. What's she going to do, inject poison in me with her nails?" she stared at my hands for a moment, and then said, "Although they are very long..."

I smiled at her joke and said, "We demonic keep our nails as long and sharp as we can. It comes in handy sometimes if we're attacked, in few certain situations."

"Ah." Alicia took my hand, though it was behind my back, and shook it.

Suddenly the door to the room was thrown open, and a man in uniform stepped through with urgency. He glared at me when he saw me, as if I had done some terrible crime, and then turned to Alicia and bowed low to the ground with great respect, "Princess Taiyou, I carry you a message of much importance. A few of the guards were spotted by demonic far east upon the Ridged Lane. They're beginning to dwindle in number and are in need of guidance and one with strategy."

In that moment, her whole appearence changed. She was no longer the kind, curious, happy-go-lucky girl I'd seen, but a leader, calm, focused, and completely in control. "Guard, lead me towards them. We must hurry before it's too late! Guard Koji, watch the girl, and don't let anything happen or I'll have your head. Is that clear?"

He nodded, "Yes, my Leige. Understood."

And with that, she followed after the guard through the door and towards battle. As I sat there, nervous, and knowing I was not trusted, I decided to just play it safe and do nothing. I didn't want to strike up a conversation or convince him to let me go. Rather, I would keep to myself, so as to not be more of an inconvenience than I already was. At least, those were my intentions.

For more than two hours, I sat there and did nothing, and clearly the guard was bored out of his mind. Nothing happened, and all was quiet...for now. I jumped in fright as I heard a loud bang against the wall, and I turne to the guard, discovering that he had not heard it. Whatever the soun, I knew it wasn't good, but I didn't want to seem suspicious, so I said nothing. Unfortunately, when I heard a loud, piercing scream, I could ignore my instincts no longer. I did a quick 360 scan, and found a door just a few meters away, and knew if I ran, I could make it. Most likely, I would be killed if this failed and I was just hearing things. And even if I wasn't, I might still be killed. But I couldn't stand back and do nothing!

When the guard turned his hea away, I jumped up and made a dive for the door. Caught by surprise, he fell face-first onto the floor, giving me enough time to kick the door open and find man bleeding against the wall of the house, dagger in his shoulder, held by a woman with a mask over her face, her dark raven hair in two long ponytails at either side of her head. Using my claws, I split my handcuffs down the center, grabbed her, and threw her to the ground. She got back up, and I backed up, jumping high in the air and doing a high-jump kick, landing it just perfectly on her face. The girl screeched, and threw her hands up, and in a single movement, disappeared, leaving only a thi, filmy powder from where she stood. I stared at it for a little while, knowing where it came from instantly. A demonic...

The man I had saved stared at me for a moment with his clear blue eyes, but whether in shock or grattitude, I couldn't tell. His eyes shut, and he fell to the ground, leaving a thin trail of blood from where he slid. The guard, at the worst possible timing, finally made it outside, and stood aghast. Not that I could blame him, because a) the prisoner escaped b) the escapee managed to get rid of the cuffs on her hands, and c) suddenly there was now a stabbed, unconscious man lying at my feet. Could I possibly make it look any worse??

He stared at me with shock and hatred for what he thought I had done, and pulled out his sword. Just then, two more guards came by, obviously having overheard the commotion- one of them holding him back, and the other staring at me, completely frozen in place. "Kill her!! Kill her you damn basterds, can't you see what she's done?!"

"Hey, hold her down before she gets away!!" one of them shouted to the other guard, still frozen in place.

He nodded quickly, and grabbed my shoulders, obviously being new at his job, for if I wanted, I could easily have gotten away, but I did not. He was terrified, and anyone could've sensed that, and he probably knew that I knew, which might have explained his confused expression. The other guards calmed down, and came to help him out, grabbing me so tightly, I could feel my arms throbbing from lack of blood circulation. I hung my head, though I felt no shame. No matter what I might say, they would see me as a killer and I would be executed. But I hadn't regretted what I had done. They took me away, and I knew this would be the end of me.
