Story of my life: Alex was born and raised in a small town out in the boondocks of Virginia where, unfortunately, nothing went by unnoticed. His mother was born a Witch and, because the witchcraft gene runs through the women in the family, he and his twin sister were both born Magi. Their mother taught them, in secrecy, the rules of and how to use magick. But, she stressed that they should never show their magical abilities to anyone, not even their father. Victoria, his sister, spent all her time learning how to manipulate nature and the natural elements, whereas he spent most of his time learning destructive artes, which led him to the forbidden fruit of all magick - Necromancy. He found that he was rather talented at being a Necromancer and an Alchemist, and decided he would further his studies into the dark arts, simply because it was fun. His father saw him, one day, talking with a rather large King Cobra one day that had supposedly broken free from the cage it was in (although, the truth was that Alex broke her free). The snake was constantly wrapped around Alex whenever he was alone, and when his father saw him speaking to the snake and practicing magick, he immediately went to his wife. When she admitted the truth, he lost his mind and ran, telling everyone in the town. The result? They tried to kill the rest of the family.
They failed, somewhat. They succeeded in that he had killed his wife, but he failed miserably at attempting to kill his son. Alex, filled with grief at his mother's death, ordered his new and apparently only friend, Shiva, to attack his father - and she killed him without question. He and Victoria ran from the small town and spent days traveling, occasionally seeking refuge with kind people that brought them in. They finally reached a town known as Windy Hollows, which seemed to have been a town where people like them lived in harmony. And so they decided to stay, making themselves acquainted amongst the other Magi. They now both attend school and work part-time jobs to earn money for food and living arrangements.
Don't get mad if I'm: a bit prideful. Alex is very prideful about his character, mainly because he has so much trust in his abilities that he does not believe he should be anything less. He constantly puts people beneath him, save for Victoria and Shiva. He has a caring attitude towards his sister and most women, but loathes men and strangers with a passion. He cares nothing for the laws, but still follows them so that he would not have to leave with Victoria again and attempt to find a new home.
Also, don't let me forget: His familiar is an abnormally large King Cobra, to which he has named her Shiva.
