Through the storm I have weathered, Climbing up hill in the rain, The wind ripping at my skin, The earth shaking below trying to run me off my path.
But when I reached the summit I turned, And beheld the deep valley from which I had emerged. Dark, endless night with no sun, No life, No love.
And as I turned back to the future, To the flat lands, the open fields, The sun, There stood you, Hand out stretched in friendship, Understanding, In love.
The clouds above broke apart and the sun on my face, Warming me from within, The sunshine your smile. I felt the peace in your heart, The touch of poison from hurt. I felt me in your heart.
I looked upon your face and knew I had found my heaven, My harbor in the storm. Your hands touched mine, My face, My heart, And I knew then that the dark times are over.
