My extensions came today!~ I'm so happy.
Although, now that I have them, and I know I can put them in and they look good, it just makes me want more hairpieces. I was thinking next I could get some curly extensions and then a brown wig for con season<3
I also put on bottom lashes today. I thought it was going to be really hard, but I put those and my top lashes on without any problem. I think I'm actually ready to get some better quality ones; maybe even Dollywink! *O*
I honestly think tumblr is what's been pushing me to improve my appearance lately. I'm following so many beautiful, but otherwise ordinary, people and it's actually really inspiring. I've always kind of been hard on myself about my looks, but in the end I think it's good. If I can even get close to achieving the standard of beauty I set for myself, I think I'll be happy.
Most of the people I label as being 'beautiful' I realize are completely fake; fake hair, too much makeup, circle lenses, etc., but that in itself has changed the way I feel. Most people are all for 'natural beauty' and accepting who you are and loving what you have, which I respect. But in my experience, I can also sympathize with those who believe in trying to better yourself to be content with the way you look. To a certain extent, I think that altering your appearance, whether it be dyeing your hair or wearing fake eyelashes is fine as long as you achieve the look you want and are happy with it. No one can tell you what looks slutty or gross, because that's someone else's perception. Which doesn't matter. I'm not saying this as an excuse or a justification for me doing all the aforementioned things, but it's just what I think.
I've never really addressed this idea fully, so I'm kind of happy I did. :>
