Chapter 3: Pure Blooded Nightmare
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The earth rushed towards him fast, and he knew that usually, the impact would shatter anyone's bones, but he wasn't just anyone. As the rain dampened streets rushed up at him from below, he shifted his body, twisted it upright and landed on all fours. The aura burst out around him and reflected scarlet red on the icy drops of rain, which dripped down on him from above. Xigbar wasted no time, and instantly he bolted forwards, darted between pedestrians and light posts, leapt over benches and other obstacles. As he darted out and around the corner he practically stopped dead in his tracks. What he saw there, no, who he saw there, forced him to take a few sudden steps back.

Long black hair, underlying streaks of silver and gold eyes glowing softly is what he saw. Though there was no scar on his face where Xigbar had one, it was quite obvious the other male, clad in slightly baggy cargo pants, with several pockets scattered about them, and a black jacket which hung loosely about his top and opened at the front, clearly resembled him. Xigbar paused and shook slightly; he turned his gaze towards the other end of the street with a wary look in his softly glowing golden eye. The rain that pounded down around him sounded so much louder, so much more intense all of the sudden. That's when his eyes widened, and he swung his head back in the direction of the other. Horror hit him hard and his heart dropped to his stomach. Why was he talking to Sora? He shook his head and figured it was just a run in, and they had simply crossed each other's paths, remembered each other, and decided to stop, to talk. He had to laugh bitterly at his own stupidity. Though things had seemed a little easier between his brother and him, Xigbar was still extremely shaky around the other male.

Gabriel stood down by the front entrance of a shop which held a blue and green neon sign above it, head lowered, and a wolfish grin plastered on his face as he leaned in a little closer to the cold hearted brunette. He couldn't see clearly what was going on, but he did see his lips move, his hand come up to grip his shoulder and then…he thought he may have seen the boys head tilt back and his twin flash his wolfish fangs. At the soft sound resembling a moan or something like it, he felt his chest ache; he turned and darted down the street, straight into on-coming traffic.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Roxas stood atop the building across from the one which held the large clock face; his icy blue eyes pierced the darkness, and found each figure which stood opposite him. The two males there had quite a history together, the blonde knew, and a wicked, crooked grin found its way onto his pallid face. Oh how he loved the idea, the very thought of it. He had to remember to thank Xigbar for what he had done, what he had caused to occur later on. Thanks to him, and the fear of darkness Axel had, it had brought the two males even closer together.

Why? Well that was rather simple…the red head was terrified of the darkness, and a little of what it held within. With Roxas being light, it was easy to see why the red head could find someone he could trust, hold, and love in him. The crooked grin slowly spread out into a wide, demented one, and he lifted his hand to his face, one finger used to cover his lips as he attempted to laugh silently.

The blonde was not naïve, and he could see that Axel wanted to truly help Xigbar more then he let the other know, but the truth still remained the truth, he loved Roxas too much to give him up. He was too addicted to the blonde and what he put him through. Did the others know what went on behind closed doors? He highly, highly doubted that. With a grin that shattered any sign of sanity left in the boy, he flashed needle sharp fangs, fangs he used to lack. He chuckled darkly as he watched the wolf leap from the building, land and bolt off down the street. He knew who, and what, he would probably find there, and his chuckle turned into a laugh of madness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ashura stood with his back against cold brick, it was all that remained of the ten story building one of his old friends used to work at when he had been alive. The large blackened by fire building still stood, crumbling and caving in on itself as if it were still mourning the loss of all of those lives lost decades ago. Arms crossed and one foot lifted and resting against the cool stone, the male held his pale yellow eyes closed to slits. The rain still thundered against the pavement and concrete around him, lightning still flashed, rather close by in fact, and thunder still shook the foundation of the slowly collapsing shell he braced himself against. He wasn't there to seek out his friend's murderer or to gain revenge for the lost life, no, he had felt a tremble in the earth, a tremble he had never once witnessed before in his life. The male closed his eyes and rested his head against the cold brick, allowed the cool rain to wash down over him, too take away all of his doubts and fears. Besides, he already knew who the offender was, and where he could locate the male.

The softly whispered words of the crying sky filled his senses and he accepted them, listened to every one of them, and though one could imagine that anyone as connected as he to nature would weep at the words, all the man could manage was a slight grimace. It was Xigbar, one of his father's children, and Kaga's lover. He had begun to dislike the wolf even more with each and every passed sun, with each and every single passed moon. His older brother had returned a while back, and he had learned quite a few things, including how to truly loathe someone for once in his life. Ashura lifted one of his hands and ran it through his onyx black hair, damp strands of it slipped through and landed over one of his eyes, which he quickly flicked it away from.

Clad in a black leather trench coat which bore a few chains here and there that hung loosely about him, and long black leather pants accompanied by combat boots, the male almost blended in with his surroundings…almost. His skin was almost like ivory, pallid, and close to that of the color of milk but a little darker and tainted with a light apricot, hardly noticeable to human eyes. He was absolutely sure that Kaga knew well enough about his slowly but surely growing hatred and loathing for the male wolf known as Xigbar, so why…why did he send him to drag him back? What trouble could he have gotten himself into now? The male was close to him, and he had seemed extremely worried, but about what? He never received word from the shadow dove he had sent out to spy on him, which could have meant several things, which indeed did include the possibility it had been discovered by someone, and killed or captured for the information.

His nails were sharp, but when someone screamed nearby, they seemed to grow out into claws, and he shoved himself away from the wall, glanced about the streets cautiously. Where had it come from? Though, one may ask if the real question should have been about what caused the sound in the first place. That was easily answered for him when another male clad in black leather burst around the corner of an alley way, eye widened in horror and body drenched with blood. There was no question of whether or not the blood belonged to him, because it was immediately obvious that it didn't. The scent of the scarlet liquid was sharp yes, but it also held another, soft and lightly sweet scent to it.

"Xigbar…what have you done?" Ashura's voice came out in a soft whisper, as his voice always did, but the harshness underneath was obvious. What had the male done now?

Xigbar seemed to have not heard him even though his head whipped up and his eye fell directly on him. Something in that light gold eye struck Ashura as something to be worried about, yet he knew it was a look of terror and disbelief. About what though? The male collapsed onto his knees and stared at his hands as the rain pouring down slowly began to wash away the blood from them, but he knew that the other would still be able to feel the stain, be able to see it even after it all washed away. He would suffer with the knowledge that someone once again died at his hands, when he had not meant it to be so. Or had he? So many questions, and yet, he knew, not enough time to ask the man all of them.

The wolf's body shook, and his voice wavered as he attempted to force the words out of his mouth. It was difficult to understand him, but none the less, he had a few ideas on what he had said. Somewhere in the alley he had run through, someone would find the bodies of not only a woman holding a gun, bullets drenched in the venom of a leviathan, but a child as well, an innocent little child dead for no reason. Whatever the wolf had to say about it, never reached him because Ashura was no longer going to listen. He stepped forward and off of the curb, stepping lightly towards the wolf. The other never even attempted to back away, but there was a strange glint in his eye, an agony or guilt maybe? Regret? Did it matter to him? No, it didn't, for Ashura no longer cared if this man lived or died. It wasn't the fact that he had murdered a child and the possible mother, no; it was because he appeared here before him, vulnerable, and covered in blood.

"Ashura…you must understand! I couldn't stop myself from attacking! Damn you Ashura! You know what I am! You know I did not mean to attack him, I lost myself..to my instincts!"

That's when he seemed to suddenly realize, that there was going to be no reaching the male, for he was not upset over the death of the child or the mother…which had indeed threatened Xigbar's life…no..he was being pulled in by the Rayne families curse.
