Morning
By Daniel Cartner
The last star of the night
Glows alone, ever so bright
In the darkness of the sky
With no trick of the eye
Now the dark turns to blue
This time is known to just a few
Though it happens every day
Many choose not to stay
Everything around becomes so clear
No guessing of what's far or near
Objects keep their long shadow
On the dampness of the meadow
On the hills I see a light shining
And makes my soul take off flying
When everything becomes the norm
It makes the coolness become warm
I no longer see the stars in the sky
To this I hang my head and cry
But I know I shouldn't fret for long
Soon they'll be back where they belong
