We all sat down last night (except Sarkhan, who mysteriously disappeared) to talk about the apartment. I complained about the cleaning and asked everyone to pick up after themselves more. That didn't happen. Pretty much Eric and Noah avoided the topic until Eric said "******** it, let's just make a chore chart." Which is a nice idea, except we agreed to do it already, and it never happened.

Then we talked about how Alex needs a job. Which he can't get right now, because if he gets a job and his hours interfere with mine, I don't have any way to get to work and I get fired. Eric told me to just buy a car for myself. I can't do that because I can't afford one right now. Eric said "Well he can still go to interviews." And tell them what? "Hey, I can't work the hours YOU want me to because I have to drive my girlfriend to work at these times." How likely is that to actually please the potential employer? When we said that to Eric he said "So? You can still look for work."

And THEN, he said "I, personally, want to see you two move out on your own." Wtf? HE and NOAH are the ones that wanted to move out. When I said that he said "Yeah. We are. But you two need to do something too."

And when I got on Noah and Eric's case about Sarkhan, they actually defended him.

Me: What about Sarkhan?
Eric: What about him?
Me: You guys are riding Alex so hard to get a job. What about Sarkhan? He doesn't work.
Noah: He goes to school. That's more important, I think, than anything any of us are doing. And besides, he already has a job...
Me: -cuts in- He's gone to school once in the last two weeks. And he works under the table one day every couple weeks at Paladin's for maybe four hours. None of that money he earns, he contributes to the apartment.
Noah: ...
Eric: ...
Me: I think he needs to get a job, since he's got so much free time on his hands. And he could do to clean up after himself more often, too.


Noah and Eric didn't say anything at all.

Oh, and what's more? On the drive home, Alex and I talked about how the rent might be done. He said that it'd only be fair that we divide up the rent into three equal parts and pay it, since he and Sarkhan aren't working. I said "Yeah, that'd be fair, but I just have this feeling that they'll try to make me pay more than just a third of the rent. Like they'll find a way to get more money out of me."

When we got home, the first thing Noah asks me is if I'll get paid soon enough to pay rent. I said "Probably." And then I asked how we'd be dividing up the rent.
Noah: Well, I suppose you're going to go ahead and pay for Hawksley, so that's you're fourth and his fourth, and Eric and I are each gonna pay our portions...

I just turned to Alex and said "I told you."

Oh, and apparently Sarkhan is exempt from rent. I even asked about it and that's how we got on the subject of Sarkhan being in school. Also, they wanted me to pay $360. That's not fair at all. $635 divided by 4 people is $158. Doubled (if I WERE paying for Alex) is $317. Utter bullshit.

I am not in a very happy mood today.
