Chapter1: Arrival and Problematic Victory (Part 1)
It had been nearly two days since Marcus had left from Vermillion City to the much awaited Unova region. The ship had been running non-stop and was finally coming to one of the first attractions of the Unova region, Liberty Garden. This landmark was a gigantic lighthouse that had been built nearly 200 years ago with rumors of a great treasure hidden within its lower levels. Marcus arose and exited his room to get a wisp of the ocean air. He makes his way to the main deck where a small amount of passengers were also up, possibly for the same reasons that he was.
As the ship docks for tourists, they run into a bit of a snag. A mysterious organization made seized the island, more than likely searching for the fabled treasure. Unable to prevent the ship from docking, an announcement was sent throughout the ship, asking for passengers to remain or return to their rooms until further noticed. Marcus, on the other hand, had something else in mind… a passion for justice that would lead him to find out the cause.

As the ship came to dock, a few sailors and the captain’s second in command unloaded from the ship to find out what was wrong. These sea men were then captured by men dressed in suits of armor with a blue ‘P’ plastered on their shiny chest plates. Marcus had followed behind the sailors and was lucky to have broken off before they were captured. He watched as they were led to join another group of captured citizens. He noticed a security guard in the group and figured that the police force would not be there for some time. His mind and common sense screamed for him to return to the boat, but his sense of adventure and family blood called for him to explore the situation a little more. With no pokémon and only a few supplies in his brown bag, Marcus foolishly snuck through the few enemy guards on his way to the lighthouse where the amount of guards seemed to be the thickest.

”Who the heck are these creeps?” he said to himself as he crept and flipped from bush to trash can. He had been thankful for all the covert spy games he had played at home and was surprised by how effective they were at this moment. He spotted a lone guard and figured that this victim would be his rat. Looking in his bag, he examined the contents that were present; a few pens, a small notebook, a few coins, a few encased berries, and a bandanna. Years of playing Steel Gear Ekans told him that this was more than enough. He continued to sneak through the small amount of land, stopping behind a densely green thicket. Readying his red and green bandanna, he quickly rose and wrapped the cloth around the guard’s mouth, pulling him down and into the bush. ”Who are you and what do you want with this lighthouse?!” He had been rather lucky to have captured a newbie grunt that had been nearly paralyzed with fear to respond. He loosened the strangling cloth to allow the young boy to speak. ”Scream and it’ll be the last that you ever speak!” He said, tightening the cloth a little more to show he meant business.

”We… we… we’re team plasma…. oh gawd, don’t kill me!” he began to plead. The boy was straining to see Marcus’s face, vision obstructed by the chainmail that he had been wearing on his head.
”Don’t worry… answer my questions and we’ll be just fine.” Marcus had no intention of hurting the boy, but the fact that this was working filled him with adrenaline like a drug causing his voice to deepen and his pupils to dilate to a scary proportion. ”Now then… what do you want with this island?”
The boy hesitated, but the feeling of sheet metal squeezing against his throat quickly opened his lips. ”There… there is supposed to be a legendary pokémon here.”
Marcus could hear the boy whimpering as well as the clattering of shaking knees. ”Oh really now?” his attention was drawn. Not only was he here apprehending a member of a criminal organization, a bit more extravagant than team rocket, but he was about to witness his first legendary pokémon since arriving in the Unova region. ”Well kiddo… it’s your lucky down. Now return where you came from. And remember… you never say me.” He released the boy and pushed him from behind the bush.
The boy, glad to be free made his way back to a black ship that was docked on the other side of the island.

Marcus pocketed his bandanna and pondered over the information that he had learned. Feeling almost invincible, Marcus had forgotten his greatest weakness at the moment… he did not have any pokémon to defend himself. Adjusting himself he spotted another bench and the distance and waited for patrolling guards to leave before run to that bench. After continuing this for a short amount of time, Marcus had finally been able to spot the entrance to the lighthouse. He was a little surprised to see that only one guard was standing there. Standing off to the side, behind a shrubbery bush, Marcus reached in his back and pulled out the few coins that he had jingling at the bottom. He then flung the coins at the guard’s head to get his attention. As the guard approached in anger, Marcus appeared behind him wielding his bandanna, ”Ninja Grappling Technique #72!” he whispered. Marcus quickly wrapped the cloth around the guard’s mouth and kicked his legs from under him, slamming him into the ground…. K.O. The guard was rather dazed from having metal bash him in the back of the head, foam appearing around his mount along with swirling fainted eyes.

Marcus wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead and dashed for the Lighthouse Entrance. Once inside, he noticed a guard had been tied down and aided him by removing the white cloth from the man’s mouth.
”Thanks heavens, a trainer is here to rescue us!”
This statement brought the truth to Marcus’s eyes as well as a large sweat drop. ”Oh right… I don’t have any pokémon. I’m just a normal tourist… crap.” His high was nearly deprived because of this.
”Then… then how did you get here?!” The old man was astounded, but shook his head coming back to the situation at hand. ”Well, none of that matters. We need to contact the police and save Victini.”
”Vic…tini?”
The man’s panicked state caused him to say more than was necessary, revealing that he was much older than he looked. ”Oh dear… I’ve said too much. None of that matters. I need you to go over to my desk and press the red button located under i--- Hey… hey, what on earth are you doing?!”
Marcus had already begun to undo the ropes binding the man. ”You call the police, I’m gonna say that pokémon!” Once done, he took off down the hall to the house’s basement, leaving guard that was crying something about needing pokémon. He then reached a secret room and heard the cries that sounded similar to that of a child.
”Help… help me…”
This voice was not heard by ear, but within his mind. ”Don’t worry, help is on the way.” Marcus thought back, ignorant to whether or not he was actually answering or thinking idly to himself. Stopping at the entrance, he peered in to seem a small orange pokémon huddled against the wall and surrounded by enemy pokémon. Marcus could feel his grip on the wall tightening as he listened to the little creature cry in fear.
”Vic… vic… VICTINI!!!” it clenched its eyes shut and began to radiate a bright light as a defensive tactic.
”Hahaha… Victini, the victory pokémon.” The man standing behind the pokémon bellowed in laughter. ”With your powers, Team Plasma will be unstoppable!”
Marcus was aware of the problems that he would face if he were to try and attack the man, but he had to do something. Letting go of common sense, Marcus stepped from behind the wall and started to walk towards the team plasma member. ”STOP!!” He caught the man’s attention and glared at his pale white face. ”What you’re doing is wrong and I will stop you.”
With a raised eyebrow he returned a glare at Marcus. ”You will, will you? Well bring out your pokémon and we’ll see who will stop who.”
