Is there never a happy medium?
Whenever I get involved in things I like to make certain that they thrive and grow, yet it seems every time I join something which needs a little bit of a push I get into the ‘good ole’ boys’ club wall as per the usual. Everyone’s always upset because I couldn’t possibly understand how things are since I’m ‘new’ or what have you.
It’s come to me in this life that I have learned the really isn’t anything new under the sun and furthermore understanding isn’t lacking from specific experience. There are experiences to be had in every breath and action similar or otherwise. We can as human beings relate to one another very, very easily but we allow the ego to prevent such as we believe no one could possibly understand the unique snowflake that is us. Ridiculousness if you ask me.
If someone wants your guild to thrive and makes motions to keep things going on their own then let them. It’s good to have a cheerleader, especially when they’re being nice about it (which I truly believe that I am). There is no such thing as tone or inflection in text. It is also easy for those on the internet to be poised to take any new information with a negative slant from being burned before. I realize that there are idiots on the internet but I’m not one of them. I get along with every single person I meet in the real world and think I’m quite reasonable and happy-go-lucky all the time. Why do people have to piss on their fences and raise their hackle over a hello is beyond me.
Anyways, I’m just somewhat moody at territorial people at the moment. If you put yourself out there, then be prepared for people to try and help you along because it’s a form of flattery. Learn to recognize it.
