holy crap, I'm never going to scoff about keeping emergency supplies on hand.

as far as I know, all of my family is okay, but I haven't been able to get in touch with my grandma, but I assume she stayed with my aunt and that I can't get her on the phone because of the whole all of north alabama being without power.

I think I'll get to leave work at my normal time, hopefully no twelve hour shifts or any this weekend.

it's pretty surreal to be in town with no lights anywhere, and it sucks to drive because of all of the traffic lights being out. of course, it could always be worse; I'm thankful we're all okay, and I think my house is pretty alright.
