Rain falls, pitter patter pitter patter
on my windowpane, My cheek pressed against the glass.
The cool glass made goosebumps on my arms.
It made me close my eyes and smile, enjoying the beautiful veiw
of the black and grey concrete jungle outside my little barrier
I could watch the dangerous world from the safety of my own room.
I watched the cars pass.
Even when I wasn't at the window, I would still see the lights
Crawl across my wall and ceiling.
And I could watch the people rush by
They had places to be.
Sometimes they had umbrellas. Somtimes they did not.
Every few hours I would go make myself a snack, and eat it by my window
My blocked portal to the outside world.
It made me smile.
