The full moon. Beautiful, bright and glorious. Many people see it as a romantic symbol, others take consolation in it when they're sad. Some even glare at it with hatred or hurt emotions. Often, it's the only moon that people notice. All they ever see is the shining glory, and never take the time to realize that it becomes shrouded in shadow every month. It is the people who notice the entire cycle and love the moon for all that it is who are some of the most interesting people one might ever meet. They understand that life is more than just that glorious shining moment, and that it has its dark times. It is because of those dark times, however, that they appreciate the bright light that much more. It's a beacon. A reminder that when the darkness comes, there is still light to show us the way.
