Chapter 1 The twins tread through the forest. Feet sore, they stopped and rested. "Can we PLEASE find somewhere to stay already?" the girl twin, Rin, pleaded. "No, Rin. Not until we get to the next town." The boy twin, Len, replied. Rin had short blonde hair with bamboo clips, that she bought from the last town they stopped at, holding her bangs up. Rin was wearing an orange kimono that split near her thighs and joined again behind her ankles. She was a priestess who cared for Len, and in return, he protected her. Len had messy blonde bangs and a short ponytail. He was a Samurai who vowed to protect everyone he could after his mother was murdered. He was wearing a silk dark blue shirt that was tucked into to dark blue pants. "We've been walking in this stupid forest for HOURS. The bamboo leaves are getting annoying. They keep whacking me in the face!" Rin complained as she swatted away a fly. " And these stupid bugs!" she groaned. "Don't worry, we're all most there. I'll spar for yen, then we can eat tea and rice cakes." Len promised. He patted her head and continued walking. He heard Rin muttering behind him, and it soon got annoying, but he didn't complain. The bamboo started thinning out, and he could finally sea sunlight and a field out front. They were blasted with refreshing wind and beautiful sunlight. It was the start of a wheat field. "No more walking!" Rin complained again. She was messing with the long orange floral patterned sleeves, which were faded and a bit shredded from months of traveling. "Come on, Rin! Wheat fields means civilization, and I can see a town in the distance!" Len pointed to buildings that were cradled by red walls near the base of a mountain. "Fine..." Rin sighed. She treaded forward stiffly. He knew how she felt. Tired and ready to collapse, but they were almost there. He could see it.
Chapter 2 Len body ached as they walked silently through the darkened streets of the city, which were dimly lit by lanterns that were attached to the Sakura trees that lined the walls. After winning 5 or 6 spars or so, they had enough yen to by a room and dinner. They finally reached the Inn one of the competitors had told them about. It was a big, 3 floored building with a brown bricked roof, lined with a jade carving. They walked inside. Hardly see-through silk hung from certain places to divide each table. "Welcome to the Jade Inn. Care to rent a room? Or perhaps dinner?" The lady asked. She looked...Odd. She had white hair that seemed pointed and she had a red leaf on her head. Rin had noticed it too. "Um..Dinner please..." Len handed her a handful of yen and they sat at one of the closest tables. It was out on a terrace that looked out onto the city square. Strong wood pillars held up a wood roof, that was painted over to look gold, yet still very convincing. The strange lady served them jasmine tea and very nicely made rice cakes. Without even ordering, she even pasted out chicken and rice. A very fancy Inn. Though, it was a city. They scarfed down the food and was escorted back tot the main entrance. "Did you enjoy your meal?" She asked. "Yes. Thank you very much!" Rin bowed casually. "We'd like a room, please." Len handed another handful of Yen again and she escorted them to the second floor, where another girl who looked like her, except she had a different hairstyle and a green kimono. She lead them down a narrow hallway and opened on sliding door to a room. She bowed and walked away. "Wow!" Rin skipped into the large tatami room. "It's so nice here!" Len set down his katana near the table and looked out on the balcony. It had a whole over view of the city, which glowed with lanterns. "Let's go shopping!" Rin suggested. "What?! I thought you said you were tired!" "But the food recharged me!" Rin explained. "Please? Please, please?" "Fine..." "Yay!" she skipped out the door and down the stares, clinging to Len's arm.
Chapter 3 Rin skipped happily back up the stares, leaving a tired Len carryingall her baskets behind. He plopped the baskets down onto the floor, gasping for air. Rin was twirling in her new light green kimono. She had also gotten a free headband that had yellow beads hanging from the sides and big white bow on the top. "How much yen to we have left? ~" She asked innocently. "Probably enough to buy breakfast tomorrow... Then we gotta' go." Len explained. "Okay" Rin nodded and skipped out to the terrace. Len took off his top and let his hair down. He was awfully tired, he could barely walk with Rin while she was in the market. Finding blankets and comforters in the closet, he laid them on the ground. "Thanks for coming with me tonight, Len." Rin said as she stepped in. "I'm sorry if I exhausted you..." Rin apologized. "Don't worry about it. It helps me have a nicer, deeper sleep." Len said. "Mm..." Rin sighed as she stretched. She slipped off her new kimono so she was just wearing the white silk shirt that was similar to Len's and white shorts. They got the beds set up, said good night, and blue out the lantern. Len fell asleep quick;y, only to be awakened in what felt like moments. It was already morning. "Came so soon." he mumbled and yawned. Rin walked in seconds later as Len was fixing his hair with a basket of fruits and bread. "Good morning! The ladies downstairs were so nice! They gave me free food! I wonder why?" Rin exclaimed. After the twins ate, bells started chiming outside. Rin skipped over to check what it was. "Len! Come here!" she shouted. He rushed over to her and saw some people were bringing in a 'stage' like thing into the center of the square as a girl with long green pigtails and a lime green and pink kimono followed. Len had heard of her. She must of been the 'Ohime-sama' of the village.
