Hazel: Mariot?! Mariot?!
(Mariot comes running up the garden with a fire lamp and his shirt ripped. His chest heaved and a thread of chest hair hung out)
Mariot: I'm here Hazel. I am so glad you showed yourself. For a moment I thought you were your father, that EVIL man!
Hazel: (shhhhhh) You must hush yourself Mariot before he really does come out. Now, what shall we embark on on this glorious, star filled night?
(Hazel puts her arm through Mariot's and he leads her down a garden path)
Mariot: I discovered a new place today while toiling around in the fields. It's on a little mountain face. A shelf of rock in the Killies mountain face, hidden by bushels of ripe red berries and patches of clover to rest on.
Hazel: Sounds wonderful Mariot. Let's go now!
(Hazel and Mariot make it tothe mountain face in remarkable time. It's not a big mountain, more like a hill, and he holds her against him as they climb to the little hideout. Mariot settles Hazel down gently before climbing in with her.)
Hazel: This is so magical! (loud voice now) You can see everything from here.
(Hazel moves her arm and hits the berries off a nearby strand)
Hazel: Are these edible?
Mariot: Yes. And very tasty. But I've never seen or tasted them before now. They are very good. Try one.
(Hazel skeptically takes a berry and slides it in her mouth. Her expression brightens)
Hazel: These are so delightful! Perfect for our rendezvous tonight.
(Hazel watches Mariot's eyes on her.)
Hazel: What?
Mariot: You look so beautiful tonight. Do I have permission to kiss your cheek?
(Hazel flushes)
Hazel: Yes
(Hazel turns her head for him to peck her cheek, but turns it in time so that his kiss finds her lips. He chuckles while the kiss happens.)
Mariot: Someone is devious tonight.
Hazel: Well it's no fun when it's not your lips. Now, may I kiss you?
Mariot: Yes you may.
(Hazel moves in to quickly kiss Mariot but they end up with mouths glued for longer than 2 minutes. Hazel rests her head gently on Mariot's shoulder and starts to sleep. Mariot kisses Hazel's forehead.)
Mariot: Sweet dreams my love.
