Lolita and a Criminal A thread of pity Is what stiches together every wound The fleeting strand of pain That only lasts seconds as The needle pushes its way through my skin Healing the cuts that run deep and Silencing the pulsating heartbeat That beats only with cries Of my life that has been wrecked One-thousand times or more
But did I forget to mention That promises are to be kept And not forgotten? So when every lie is recognized And the hazy shroud Over truth is lifted and cast away The one thing that should always be remembered Is that I was always there Always a shouder to cry on And always someone to talk to
But that was all long ago So long ago that not even I recall those moments When every lie was let into my head Sweet little meaningless things that were said Things that should've been seen as wrong and dirty The little girl that was once me Once loved so much Has gone away from you Left to tell this story
The story about the innocent games we played Although now they don't seem so innocent Now that I know About the lies that were spewed And the truths that weren't told Ican no longer see us together I can no longer play little love games I can oly try to move on Because there is only one way I will ever see us As Lolita and a criminal
...I can make you promises, but they won't mean a thing...
