It was a fine November morning in Santa Cruz, California. It was around fifty degrees Fahrenheit at that time. Seagulls had been up early, pecking at the minnows that had been relaxing near the seashore. The sun hadn’t even started rising. All was calm and peaceful, like any other morning. The only thing that had not been right about that perfect morning was the strange, multi-colored cat that once sat on a bedroom windowsill.
