Relationships: Maddie's friends and family, and how she interacts with them.
America: Older brother, Southern neighbor, often tagged with her as the 'North American twins', and ultimately the cause of much dread in her life, as he's one of the main reasons she's overlooked by others. Still, they're capable of getting along at the rarest of times, periods where the two can manage to bring up a mutual sibling affection. Naturally this never lasts long.
England: Took Canada from France after the French nation lost the Seven Years war. For the first majority of her stay with him the Canadian could feel nothing but black hatred for him, but as time went on she had a face-heel-turn, blindly devoting herself to him for the rest of her time as his colony - she stayed this way for a while after becoming a nation as well, until the twenty-first century, were ignorance and binds that refuse to leave rekindled that strain between them. Maddie's much closer to his female side, Alice.
France (Your French Waiter/Kingdom of France): Whom she calls her Papa, and the first person to colonize her. In sorts of retaliation to England and devotion to France, she kept her French culture and allowed it to flourish over the years until it's as deep with her as her Native roots are. She loves him like crazy, despite the fact that he enjoys taking on the role of an immensely embarrassing parent, praising her for things she'd...rather not be praised for.
Netherlands (HoIland): Though she birthed a child from him, their love is on halts.
Nyotalia!Prussia (vital regions please): Undoubtedly Canada's best friend, them meeting and sparking a friendship by random chance. The Prussian has been prone to unrelenting teasing, but she has shown true concern and care, as Canada has shown her. She's the only person that Canada will truly shed her shy, quiet demeanor for.
Turkey (Sadiq Adnan): Another sort of chance meeting, between two who are no closer than the normal bonds that are between nations, bonds that most of the personifications of countries don't take into consideration. Surprisingly enough she grew to become extremely fond of him in no time and takes to looking up to the older man.
Portugal (SekkekiProductions): Yet a third nation that she became close to not by nation ties. At one point they were in love, and were married for a long period, until the Portuguese man left for months without a word. Now that he's back, they've decided to just be good friends. Even with their break up, they're still pretty close to each other.
Russia (xxRussia_is_Lovexx): One of Canada's best friends, as she's one of the few people who's not frightened of the usually intimidating man. Their relationship started with their simple similarities, the two finding each other through their loneliness, and eventually grew extremely close.
Ireland (Princess Mint the Great): Maddie's second closest female friend, right up there to Prussia. Other than Maddie having deep cultural Irish ties in the Maritimes, they have a relationship akin to that of sisters, and like with Turkey, Maddie feels like she can look up to her and go to her for advice.
