I must be in a journal-y mood lately. I just feel like jabbering about my dream last night. It was a bit of a doozy. I'll try to keep it simple.
It was a zombie dream. Now, i've had countless zombie dreams, that's true. But I actually haven't had a single one for months. So it feels strange having one now.
It was set pretty much in a Walking Dead tone, as far as post-apocalyptic, present time, years after the collapse of society type thing. I was alive in this one - not always the case - but it didn't last long. Pretty much, the way things worked in the world were that every living person just had to avoid the Herds.
The bulk of all zombies traveled in massive, difficult-to-avoid herds and if you were ever unfortunate enough to pull the attention of the whole herd, you almost always died.
Well, you can guess what happened to me. I was travelling with about four others, but I got caught. They were eating me - and that's something that almost never happens in my zombie dreams. But that's not the part that stuck with me when I woke up. See, I only saw more zombies coming, so I just turned the gun up to my forehead and pulled the trigger. Blasted my brain out, made a big mess. And almost immediately reanimated as a zombie.
So, when I was shortly-after waken up, I still felt the effect. I still felt like my brain was shot out. For an hour, at least, after I woke up. A dizzy, head-swimming feeling that's hard to describe. Also kind of felt like falling. I couldn't get up for a good long while after waking up. I couldn't even open my eyes, they felt detached and sunk in.
I still kinda feel it. I normally feel really -loose- after being a zombie in one of my zombie dreams, but this was -amplified-. I'll assume it's just because I haven't had a zombie dream in such a long while. I don't know why I have zombie dreams as much as I do, and why they effect me so much. This dream didn't scare me. The zombie dreams almost never do. (no dreams do, in fact) I just wish I understood why.
