So I've been listening to boatloads of Jack's Mannequin lately and ohmygoodnessgracious they are really good!! So today I'm going to talk about music, specifically Jack's Mannequin, but since pretty much every one of their songs is a masterpiece I'll choose one to talk about this time.
Song choice: Swim
First of all, great song, probably one of my favorites, I really like the piano in this one and the melody is alright. Best part of the song is lyrics and meaning, swimming meaning fighting in a corrupt society when it seems that the entire human race, even the whole world is spiraling downwards. One line says "swim for the lost politicians who don't see their greed as a flaw" and I must say that's a very mild way of putting it; but it acknowledges problems like depression and war and then says swim either despite or because of those things.
"You gotta swim, don't let yourself sink. Just find a horizon, I promise you it's not as far as you think"
It's a bittersweet song, but it's encouraging when I'm like "AAArrhghgh what iss wrong with people in the worrld??!"
So there, listen to the song, listen to all of they're songs ... except suicide blonde ...
This was either moderately interesting or incredibly boring to read, but it's what I got.
