Steve wasn't excited to see his new school at all. The last weeks in New York had been really sad. Since his parents decided to send him to a boarding school, his mum had been crying once per day. She always told him that it was the best for him to leave New York for a while. But still, he couldn't see the point why leaving New York was good for him. In this city was everything he loved, wanted and needed. Steven talked to his mum every day and tried to convince her that it was wrong to send him to a boarding school. He knew that it made her sadder, but it was the only chance he had. At the end his plan hadn't work out and he had to go to the school in Virginia.
He arrived early at the school campus, but it was full of students anyway. When he opened the trunk the first thing he took out was his skate board, then his backpack. This backpack was his only luggage because he just had put everything in it. It was not that kind of backpack you use for a vacation, just a big and used backpack. Actually he couldn't really remember if he had packed up everything he needed. At least he knew that he had his underwear and about five caps. Looking around he saw many students walking into the building. “I have to skate”, was the first thing he could think. He put his skateboard down on the ground and jumped on it. At first Steven thought about skating through all the students, but he changed his mind and started to skate toward the garden.
The garden was a very quiet place. A nice thing about the garden was that he could skate like he wanted. Nobody was in his way and nobody was pissed because of him. He started to look at the school building. It was really enormous. His parents told him that it was the home of a rich family until 1950. “Who wants to live in such a big building? And who wants to live in a place so far from New York?” Actually he liked the wind and the smell of nature in the garden, but now it was time to go and find his dorm. He would sleep in the dorm of Invierno, which meant winter in Spanish. Easier said than done, he went into the crowded floors of the building again. There were all kinds of people in the floors. Suddenly he arrived at the main entrance again. He noticed a boy greeting many students that came in. “Maybe he can help me… But first I’ll look around again.”
