CAG and Surgery
Summer is drawing to a close and you'll never guess what I miss most.

Work.

Which I know is like:

but it's true. For three full months I was working "full-time" at the theme park, which, more often than not, meant six-day work weeks. At first it felt like a lot, but then I got used to it. And I got used to not having days upon days of freetime, to the point where I barely know what to do with myself now that we've gone back to weekends-only. @_@

Be that as it may, I've got $6,563 in the bank, which is all the paychecks I've earned over the course of this season. Which puts me at 78.9% of the $8,320 I need for my top surgery. smile

I ended up visiting the surgeon in San Fransisco sometime in March and scheduling surgery for November 24th (after the season at the park ends, thus, no work confliction and plenty of time to heal before the next season starts whee ). My original plan had been to donate ovum to get the required funds, but that fell through when I was rejected based solely on my father's eyesight. It was a very disappointing outcome, as I'd managed to get myself incredibly hyped about the idea of becoming a donor, specifically as a transman. This period of time is when I also declared that I'm more or less agnostic now. It was sort of like the straw that broke the camel's back, because a lot had been leading me up to that change in faith/seeing the world anyway, and that event became the "tip-over" point.

I'm very, very excited for my surgery, which is now less than three months away. This is something I've been wanting ever since puberty gave me those unwanted lumps. The next challenge will be acquiring the funds to freeze/store my ovum, such that I will be able to start HRT (2nd puberty heart ) and have my genetic material on-hand for when Mike and I decide to have children through a surrogate. smile

Mike is currently still working at Nvidia, as I'd mentioned in the last entry. We did move into a different apartment however, in East San Jose, because the rent in Santa Clara was TOO DAMN HIGH. My OTP is still Science Bros, but at the moment I'm more focused on my "chibi-a-day" project that will hopefully one year enable me to have a booth at Fanime. Chevy won't speak to me anymore; our friendship became too much of an emotional burden for him, so he cut and run. I didn't really need him anymore though, because I've been investing a lot more in Mike, and to an extent, my co-workers. It's been really awesome (understatement) having an environment where everyone knows me as Rick, and my preferred pronouns are used as a matter of course. As a result, I am definitely returning next year for another season, and I'll be aiming for a promotion to supervisor!

So I guess that mostly covers it, as far as these entries go. Hopefully Gaia won't shut down before my next update. razz
