Musings of the Ootsutsuki
Demonic Initiative
Mammon settled into the establishment comfortably. It had proven quite the annoyance to sneak out of London. He had left for the furthest airport from the settlement and flowed to Jerusalem early in the morning. He had slipped through the streets and infiltrated the Temple of Solomon. Then he proceeded to hollow out the ground beneath the building for his own devices. So far, he had managed to procure a bed and several important provisions.

By no means the best outcome, it was more than enough to suit the purpose in which he intended. No one would look for him in Israel. Least of all beneath the Temple of Solomon. A man that was reportedly known for taming the population of the Underworld with the blessing of God himself. Or itself. The disgraced Royal had never quite found out the truth on God's true gender. He wanted to suggest that he was similar to Demonkind in that he was androgynous.

The creature leaned over a small wooden desk as he contemplated his next course of action. He had somewhere that he could remain hidden for the moment. There was no longer a reason to look over his shoulder in the middle of the night. Not for awhile, at least. He had no doubt that the Royal of Pride would eventually think to look in Jerusalem. But that shouldn't be any time soon.

It was relieving.

He had been on the run for at least a week. Hiding from the Exorcist faction and the Royal faction. Once upon a time, he would've loved the challenge. Now he just wanted to survive the aftermath of his mistakes. Part of him wished that he had played nice with Pride from the start. This would've never happened if they had found that sense of comradeship that he shared with the rest of his fellow nobles. He cracked a smile at the thought; hindsight was twenty-twenty.

"What can I do? Staying underneath the Temple for the rest of my life is out of the question. That is no way to live."

Greed was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He could try to side with the Exorcist faction. Offer to assist them in dealing with the Royal faction in return for allowing him to live in peace. He would need to abandon his Demon heritage and embrace God. All of his power would be stripped once the final battle was won and he would be left to exist as simply another Human. But that was even if they were willing to hear him out.

For some reason, he doubted they would.

Another was to play both sides. Manipulate them into killing each other and leaving him as the last one standing. Unfortunately, that idea had more drawbacks than he would've liked to admit. The percentage of risk would skyrocket! Either side would kill him for the slightest mistake. And that wasn't even taking into consideration that neither faction liked him. They were both hunting him. Needless to say, it was out of the question.

He wasn't even going to entertain the notion of trying to return to the Royal faction. That wasn't even an option in his opinion. The only fate that awaited him down that road was death. He had no intention on finding himself in Limbo. The resting place of any Demon or Monster once death had come to claim them. Where the inhabitants were free to prey on each other for the rest of eternity. Unpleasant.

Then he paused.

Mammon recalled one of his previous lives on Earth. When he had assumed the form of a Doctor in Thessalonki, Greece. It was one of his more thoughtful periods as he wandered the medical ward in search of people to make contracts with. Specifically he remembered the parents of a newborn babe. James and Kathrine Ambrose. They were the parents of Cassiopeia Ambrose. An Exorcist of Brax's company.

Why hadn't he thought to use her before? He technically owned her.

Grinning, the Demon laughed loudly.

It was too perfect!

He could offer to give her more time on Earth in exchange for helping him in taking down the others. He cared not for the Exorcist faction, annoying as they were. But he could use the Warbler. She had the gift of knowledge in the eyes of the Lord. The ability to send the others back to the Underworld through incantations. And where she fell short, he would be more than enough to overpower them. What he was thinking was blasphemy in His eyes.

Demon and Exorcist. Working side by side.

The Demon rose from the desk and searched the room for paper. Once he found what he was looking for, he quickly set out to write a letter. He needed to contact the Exorcist and using a cellphone was foolish. It was simple to trace with the technology of the modern age. Using the old fashioned methods was much smarter in his personal opinion. But that was enough distractions for now.

Now was the time to plan. To draw in his future partner.

"Kufufufu... Cassie will surely come."
