A quick look at what's next Been scrambling making sure that zOMG is running okay. For a game as complex as zOMG, the number of outstanding tasks is as daunting as all of Gaia put together. The main problem right now was caused by inflation. The number of gold coins which show up on screen was supposed to reflect how much gold you earn, in the hundreds. If you make 1000 gold, you see 10 coins. Now that you can earn 200,000gold from a kill, suddenly there would be 1000 coins on screen, and no one likes to see 1000 coins rendered on screen. XD . Today's fix focus on limiting the gold coin displayed and limit on gold coins rendered. The rest of the day I tried compiling the UI so the gold counter will show up properly, but I kept getting stuck. Luckily Halzy and CodeMonkey are great with Flash, and I should get this fixed with their help. There will be more fixes and updates for zOMG, but it's important that I focus on the next projects after spending 3 weeks on zOMG. My goal ever since returning was to tackle inflation, and that will be my next focus. There are some backend tasks that need to be handled, but other than that, for the rest of the month, I'll be planning and coding for this.

Maybe, if maybe, since you don't want to make too much gold coins funneling out from a monster defeat, might as well do coins with a '10M' '50M' '100M' symbol like the Mythril Coins... lesser gold rendered, right? Just a suggestion.

Lanzer I just wanted to say Thank You So Very Much! You brought back the whole reason I spent time on Gaia, zOMG!~

I can't truly express my joy on the return of this game, it still is one of the best mmo style games out there! So glad to see it return biggrin

Don't wanna mar this thank you note with concerns, but in the past the servers were rotated to avoid them getting slow, Will this be happening with zOMG back? I hope so...

I spent $25 on GC this month because zOMG was coming back, and so far bought Ring, Sweetheart and Summon Landshark

Can you do one more thing for zOMG users? Put the PoweruserMenubar back in Gaia Labs so users can easily access their clan. Thank you!

Even a single coin would be sufficient. We don't need a fancy animation - just seeing the gold actually got into our account on the site screen (not the game window) is good enough.

If it makes it any easier, making coins 'worth' more (instead of hundreds, maybe millions?). ... Though I guess that just complicates things if you're trying to deal with inflation at the same time. sweatdrop

I, too, want to place my thanks for the many hours of hard work you've had. When they took down zomg (I had to get offline for a while and came back just about the same time it was taken down) I was very heartbroken. But now, I'm super happy to have it back.

One thing that I've heard going around (don't know if you've heard) but some players are unable to upgrade their rings. The upgrade button is lit up and active, but no matter how many times you click it the ring never is updated. I started a thread to try and gather more info on it as well as place what I did find.

Again, thank you for your awesome effort and doing what they said couldn't be done!

Incredibly happy you have zOMG up and running, and I really look forward to your fix for the inflation. I don't quite expect the market to ever be the way it was in 2010, but it'd be great if having 1+ billion gold wasn't considered the standard.

Kinda not happy that the MCs are going away... Its been here since the beginning. so its going to be interesting to see what happens next. I wish you had waited til the end of the year instead of a incomplete letter set...

I don't know if you will see this, but since your return, gaia feels more personal. You've tackled projects like zOMG, which users (including me) enjoyed in the past. It's a way to gain some gold, sure, but it was a way for me to make friends and another reason to stay and hang around on gaia.

As for inflation, another project being tacked and more hope for gaians.

i bought 10$ of gaia cash when i saw zomg was coming back (though silly me bought a kin with some of that) the rest went to zomg! i got a coatl and the thank you item <3
I knew it wouldnt be perfect coming back but hopefully it can be worked on!

So you know how you can turn premium sparkles off in account settings? well, I was thinking you could just turn coin animations off with an option similar if the coding isn't too much to enter.

Just wanted to mention, maybe dropping the market place cap. That way things cannot be over 100b. its hard to get to that number normally and im sure the 1-2b gold drops in lake kindred will most likely be dropped as well.

Can you switch that focus onto the actual Games section or probably Guilds?

I just feel that Inflation isn't going anywhere and the Games and Guilds areas haven't had any real upgrades in years!

Rally still needs work and Sam's Body and Repair hasn't seen an update in more than 7 years!

So please don't start focusing on Inflation. It's honestly not going anywhere and the rest of the site needs more attention than this.

Lanzer, I love your work so far, but ever since the inventory shuffling feature was fixed (thanks for that!) there's been a different bug in inventories - people, myself included, can't access their Lockers, their temp storage and can't reorganise their inventories or change the method of stacking.

This has been happening for MONTHS and there are multiple complaints in the Inventory Bug thread and this thread too.

Could you, or another dev, PLEASE look into it, and even if you can't fix it right away, even just a mention in a journal or a staff alert to signal that you're aware of the issue would be wonderful.

I have important alchemy components stored in my locker and now I'm about to finish my 6 alchemy wings quest but I can't until I can access those items. Please help!!
