Daniella stood in the the middle of the doorway, shocked at what her best friend had just. In all the years they had been friends, never had they once shouted angrily at each other or said something mean if they were upset over something to do with plays. Many people had called them friendly rivals, since they were always trying out for the lead roles together for plays. If one didn't get the part, she never got angry at the other. If she was jealous about it, she would talk to the other calmly about her feelings. But Merri had just shouted at her angrily.
"I can not believe you actually accepted that part!" Merri had shouted, one hand on her hip and the other pointing at Daniella as she blocked Daniella from entering into their shared apartment any farther.
"You... you... traitor!""Ho-how could you say such things?" Daniella cried out, tears threatening to spill over. She did not really need to ask, she knew the reason why. At first, Merri had insisted that Daniella try out with her for the part of the lead female for the original play their drama class was putting on at their university. But then, after Daniella had decided that she enjoyed the part and really wanted to try out for it, Merri found out who the lead male was going to be. All the girls had a crush on him, especially Merri. Even Daniella could not help but fall for his charm. Merri had expected her friend to drop out of the try outs, and when their teacher had announced that she wanted Daniella for the role, Merri felt extremely jealous.
"You know why." Merri ground out, dropping her hand and turning away.
"I wish that Goblin King that you always talk about would just take you away from here forever!" She said before slamming her bedroom door shut.

"Mmm..." Daniella moaned at the light that now streamed in on her face, turning over in the soft bed and curling into a ball.
'Wait... My bedroom window is covered so that sunlight doesn't stream in in the mornings...' She thought. Feeling the blankets below her and the ones that covered her, she realized that she was NOT in her bed. She didn't even own silk sheets.
She quickly sat up in the bed, screaming in fear.
