Dreamcatchers are space fairies not unlike but far weaker than Asters. They once fed on the energy of sleeping people, much like their enemy species, but after their paradigm shift forced them to devour Nightmares they have since taken to using sleeping people as a watering hole to feast on the nightkin.
Nova is a young, brash Dreamcatcher whose first hunt for a Nightmare happened to be one terrorizing Red Ishigara, the then human Paladin. When he caught the two beings dueling, his journey toward the light--and the shadow he cast--had begun.
Nova only appears one more time, to help Mai defeat a Fantasy, the forbidden hybrid of the two species. After that, he is not seen again but sometimes mentioned.
