Chapter 1: Welcome back!
On a ledge overlooking the large village of Konoha, stood a young woman with violet hair. Sheets of rain poured from the heavens above yet she seemed to be lost in thought, her were eyes closed with her face pointed skyward, completely oblivious to everything around her. A small frown spread across her face, as she let out a soft sigh.
How is it that the world can be full of monsters? That some unknown Gods, who now litter the earth with their tears, can send forth unto this world, creatures of such terror and destruction. Then sit back and watch as humanity must stumble through these obstacles, these tests. She shook the water from her now drenched.
Bijuu, the tailed demons of one to nine, unleashed by the Gods to reek havoc on all the lands, but humans found a way to fight back, to entrap the beasts and keep their lands, for the most part, safe. A sound from farther behind caused the young woman snap open her jade green eyes and glance back.
“I think I saw her up ahead.” A male voice called out.
“You think you saw her, or you saw her… you can’t think you see someone, she’s either there or not!” Another male voice growled in annoyance.
“Well if you’re so smart, you tell me if you see her. After all you’re the one with such great eyes.” The other growled back sarcastically. Then there was silence. She crouched and turned around and scanned the area where the voices had come.
“Gotcha Akina-chan!” Two male voices called out from behind her as a large tan pair of muscular arms wrapped around her middle and lifted her from her perch.
“AH! Shigeru let me go!” She cried out, laughing at the same time.
“Alright.” He said and dropped onto her backside. She heard a soft chuckle come from behind Shigeru.
“It’s not funny Kiyoshi” She growled looking back past the chisled tan figure of Shigeru, to the pale lanky figure of Kiyoshi.
“You’re right Akina-chan, it’s not funny.... it’s hilarious!” he said and continued to laugh, that is until Akina tackled him to the ground and glared down at him from atop his puny frame.
“Ok, ok, I give.” He chuckled. The violet haired girl rolled her eyes and slowly got off him offering him her hand to help him up. He ignored her hand rolling his pale sky colored eyes and stood. A sound came from the bushes, causing the three of them to suddenly look in that direction and each drawing out a kunai.
A small red-orange/ blonde squirrel suddenly scampered out with a small nut in its mouth, looked at them, tilting its head to the side as if studying all three of them, then scurried past them and up a tree behind them.
“Phew... It’s only a squirrel.” Akina sighed putting the kunai away in its pouch. “Hey guys, do you know where Miya-sensei is?” she asked looking around past the bushes. The others shrugged.
“She was with us a little earlier, till we lost you.” Shigeru sighed and leaned against the tree the squirrel had climbed up earlier. Akina looked to Kiyoshi for confirmation.
“Wait a min…” Kiyoshi started.
“AHHH- HOLY SHI-!” Shigeru shouted in alarm.
“WHAT THE-!” Akina and Kiyoshi jumped at Shigeru’s yell as he was lifted up into the tree. The two ninja’s rushed over to the now snickering and bickering tree.
“Miya-sensei, Miya-sensei LET GO… Come on, you win already!” Shigeru was growling, not enjoying being in a vice-grip head lock by none other than their spiky flame colored sensei who was laughing at her pupil’s struggles, she lost her balance and fell off the branch, dragging poor Shigeru with him.
“OUF!” Both cried out. Miya let go of the sand toned Shigeru to rub the spot on her behind where she landed, while Shigeru didn’t seem to be affected by the fall, most likely because he fell on her.
“Well that’s the end of that mystery.” Kiyoshi chuckled helping up his teammate while Akina helped their sensei.
“So, how does it feel to be so close to home after… how many years was it now? Ah, too many, but hey home sweet home!” Miya cheered. The three ninjas shrugged, not sure how any of them actually felt, other than tired and hungry. Miya sighed, “Alright then let’s just get down there and be done with this mission.” And with that the team dispersed and made their way to the Hokage’s main office to be debriefed.
