A lot has been happening here in the past two months.
First, we have postponed the remodeling on my studio. We've shifted our attention to the main part of the basement, converting to it a bedroom/office area and a large common room/ multi-purpose area. My mom will be living with us intermittently throughout the year (when she's not in Mexico). We're pushing to get the bedroom finished before Thanksgiving when the boys come home for the holiday. That way no one loses a bedroom.
Second, I have been doing a good bit of sub-teaching at my sons' former high school, as well as running the clock at the volleyball games (and soon for the basketball games). It's a steady income which is always nice to have.
As a result, I haven't been able to do much throwing lately. Thank goodness, I've had enough pieces in inventory to keep on the shop shelf. Sales for August and September have been slow, but I did sell two small pieces each month ($40+ each month). I also have some greenware pieces ready for first firing. With the holidays fast approaching, I'll be doing some handmade (slightly abstract) poinsettia bowls and a few handmade ornaments in time for Christmas sales.
Till next time! cool
