Running his fingers through his plain, brown hair, that was about as much attempt as Raishet was going to make at fixing it. Not that it took much. Typical guy.
He crept down the stairs of his two-story house as quietly as a mouse; meaning the wooden planks beneath him would give a squeak with each step.
This morning, it seemed Raishet was the first one up. He decided that, instead of waiting for his mom to wake up and join him, he would go outside and see if he could catch the sunrise. Yes, it was that early. There as no hope of sleep after the dream he had, after all. Grabbing a big slice of good homemade bread - the kind that we, in modern days, usually don't have the pleasure of having - , he slipped outside, with less noise that his earlier decent. And he was in time. The first rays of dawn were just beginning to peak out over the horizon, splashing the low clouds with warm colors that rose one's spirits. Taking a bite out of his breakfast, Raishet let out a sigh, enjoying the momentary peace...
"Hey, Rai!"
Raishet had a moment's notice before he was suddenly flying forward, crumbs tumbling to the ground.
Rai was what friends and family called him. Apparently, Raishet was too noble for a normal guy like himself. Not that he minded. He actually agreed with that mind set.
"Ugh, what are you doing here so early, attacking me, no less?" Rai muttered, rubbing the back of his head.
The assailant?
