The Ever Consuming Darkness
Darkness
Forever waiting for the light to dim and fade
Allowing it to fester within its self
It is always there trying to smother the light and invade the soul
Corrupting the minds of those within its grasp
Filling them with hate, anger, and rage
It strikes at you without warning
Preying on your weaknesses and doubts
You try furiously to escape from its deadly grasp
Struggling with all your might, but its vicious current is to strong
Slowly sweeping you away
Further and further from the light
You are consumed by its vast nothingness
Trying to flee with nowhere to go
Held prisoner by your fears
Kept until you are completely engulfed
It is then that it feeds your hunger for power
Almost like a drug
Always bringing you back for more
That is the way of darkness
