Many people have a different view on the Christmas and New Year times.
Its a time of joy, recreation, fun, family, hopes, love, and above all else - Change.
Here i am, on the day of Christmas Eve, sitting like i do every other normal day.
A blue night gown upon my skin, and my bed beneath my body.
My eyes... The usual as they look upon a monitor.
This is merely another day. As will Christmas day be.
The only difference, is that tomorrow i will only see half of my family. I will know my family is split in its two halves due to a stupid occasion and remarks.
Tomorrow is a time when most families get together, have fun, talk, and spread the smiles and Christmas tidings.
Tomorrow, is merely another day just filled with extra things, and a means to get the family together once again.
I have work in an hour. It will be hectic. There will more more screaming children as the adult bustle and rumble, grumble and totter to try and get everything they need.
There will be more people growing frustrated and angry at me and my fellow workers in the two minutes it takes us to wrap a box in lush Christmas wrapping paper, then there has been all week.
They will grumble, shout, thrust us away to finish the job themselves only to hash it up and grow more impatient.
There will be more shoplifting and children i must calm or have our ears burst (exaggeration, but not by much), all while we hold a calm and commanding face with smiles and have Christmas music wind through our heads.
And yet - it is still another day.
When tomorrow arrives, i will be awake early, cooking and cleaning, dressing up for the occasion, smiling, and greeting, yet only to see it as another day.
Does everyone see it this way? No. Everyone has a different perspective to be sure.
I see the day as a coming, an occasion of change. From the hustle and bustle of people and drama dramatics, to thoughs of fun and games with never ending smiles.
I can smell it in the air - a sweet aroma like that of coming spring mixed with pine and roses.
How odd you might say?
Each year it has been the same. A change is what i see.
Humans have a full operational mind, "if only we knew how to use it all."
We can change depending on the weather, time, date, or due to what we make of the day and occasions.
I see a change from the normal sweeping days, to people letting themselves go in what ever way they fancy.
They use this day an occasion to act more like what they really wish to feel, or, they try to hide all they wish to know.
"Upon this day,
A sweet melody arise,
A chanting and whistling,
Upon the merry wings of the skies.
Who do you see,
But yourself either free,
Or in a tumble of unknowing,
Within the maze of the known,
Only to find you wish to be set free.
What do you want,
What do you wish;
A merry time of celebrations and gifts?
The smiles of those,
Who you seek to embrace,
or the following of time,
at it's rightful pace.
You see the wonder,
Only to miss its glory,
As you find yourself,
Retelling this story;
It is a time of coming,
A time of past,
A time to get together,
And enjoy ( This is where you put your wish)."
Remeber these words, and make of them what you will, for it is a mere thing that happened to come from my fingers without a knowledge of its come abouts.
So enjoy these days as you wish, and hopefully you can smile, and greet a coming wish.
Smile for me not once, but all through the day; no matter the problems, let them be wisked away.
